Love/Hate relationship

"My dog likes the bed, but I hate it. The cover doesn't come off, so unless you have an extra extra large washer, DON'T GET THIS BED! There are other beds out there (just like this one) that have covers that come off. I have spent more at the cleaners than I did on the bed! The poly-suede bagel is not good for chewing bones on, it gets crusty and hard... SO Nasty! I have had it for a year and I am now looking to replace it because the middle pillow already has holes in it."

"It's not washable. I'm not going through all the trouble that other reviewer did with the magic of a sewing machine and velcro. Both my Rottie and my mix love it. When one stands up, the other swoops right in and takes his place (I would have gotten two, but they're really very big and my living room can't handle two)."

Great bed that doesn't wash well

"The bagel bed is my dog's favorite - actually, there was some competition between the dogs and the cats over this bed when we bought it, but the beagle won, so it's now called the Beagle Bed. She loves it and makes happy noises when she sleeps in it. It's way too big for her, because we bought it for the husky, who still sleeps on the floor, poor thing.
However, the bed doesn't wash well. With a dog bed, it's really, really important that you can throw it in the machine and it comes out the same way. The bagel bed stuffing - especially the outer circle - gets lumpy and uneven after the first wash. I have used the dryer with a tennis ball to try and fluff it up, but it still does not look nearly as nice as it did to begin with. I am surprised that all dog beds are not made with zipper covers and Scotchguarded inner cushions. This bed would have been the perfect dog bed if that had been done, and I would have bought another one for my other dog.
As you can see from the picture, the dog is very happy with the bed, and there's room for another one her size in there..."

"My Mini Doxi just loves his new bed - however I just would have liked the description to have mentioned that the pillow in the middle is removable - he carries it around the house with him....I would have liked to have purchased one where the pillow did not come out of the bed at all...but he LOVES it!"

My doberman loves it

"Bought this bed for my Dobie. she loves it but it soon had to be washed. the cushion was easy but what I did was open the seam and take the loose black filling out. folded a full size sheet lengthwise over to 14 inches and sewed it down the length and made a good foot wide tube that I sewed the one end shut and turned inside out. filled it back up with the stuffing and sewed the end shut. Now got a big round circle tube. After washing the cover in the machine and drying it I worked the long tube back into the cover and then with velcro closed the end of the tube to sty together. Closed the opening in the cover up same way with sew on velcro and there you go.Beautiful/ clean and easy the next time it has to be done. the wonders of a sewing machine and velcro.Takes time but the outcome is what we wanted.Now it's washable and no more having to mess with that nasty filling. Love the bed for the dog and would reccomend it for dog lovers with some time on their hands to do the work."

Races to the beds!

"Until recently I had only 1 bagel bed for my 4 dachshunds. When they would come in for the nite, the
race was on to see who would get it. I have now resolved that problem with 3 more beds. No more races, at least for the older bed. Now it is to see who
can get the newer beds! They absolutely LOVE to cuddle in them."

"I bought the product because it said the cover was removeable to be washed. There is even a tag on the bed that says to wash the cover separately from the filling. However, there is no way to get the cover off."

"I purchased this bed for my Labrador retriever who has hogged my bed for a few years. It is incredibly soft and comfortable - he likes to lounge in it with his paws hanging over the edge. My dog first thought the bed was a huge toy and he drug it through the house, so I demonstrated to him that it was a bed and found it so comfortable that I nearly fell asleep in it myself! I highly recommend this bed as a quality one for dogs who like to prop themselves up or curl in a ball. The 42" bed is too small for my Lab to lie on his side and sleep."

"This bed is so well made and very plushy. My 2 1/2 year old actually fights our new english bulldog puppy for his fair share of time in it! It is well constructed and very durable. I love this bed as much as my puppy!!!! Well worth the money."

"I got tired of using an old quilt for my dog to lie on while she keeps me company in my office. I order the bagel bed, and she loves it! She jumps right in (she's a small dog) and gets comfy. Not only did I get to throw out the old quilt, but I replaced it with her new bed which is a lot better looking!"

An unusual use

"Our little Yorkie loves her bed. When the middle pillow is pulled out she has discovered a great place to dig. she starts digging like a maniac. She only stops to pant a bit and takes a big breath and begins digging again. she doesn't seem to mind at all that she never makes any progress, she just keeps on digging. when she gets tired of all the digging and we place the pillow firmly back in the middle of the bed. She'll lie down and take a nap."

"This is nice bed and not too expensive compared to others I considered. Toby seemed to like it too. When I came home from work the first day after purchasing this bed, he had it in pieces and the stuffing was all over his pen! The description of this product says it is made of durable materials, but Toby proved otherwise."

"Our dog needed her own space, off the couch, so we wanted to get her something comfortable. She took to it immediatly. The cushion is soft & durable and the overstuffed "bagel" is a great place for her to lay her head."
