"We've had a looong history of food issues with our shepherd mix Dakota. When we adopted he simply refused to eat. We tried many brands of "grocery" brand foods, all with no success. We began cooking for him and while it did get him to eat, something was NOT agreeing with him. He was having almost constant loose stools and occasional vomiting. Our vet put him on a prescription diet and simply said "he won't starve himself." He still had intermittent diarrhea and yellow, foamy vomit a couple times a week the entire time he was on the prescription diet and then Science Diet Sensitive Stomach. Finally (we're talking over 5 years from the time we got him) I find out about high quality dog food. First we used Wellness Lamb and Barley. That went over well, but when we took our new addition to an obedience class, the teacher recommended grain free foods, so we switched to Wellness CORE. Both the kids did very on that (you can read my review for that one as well), but our (new) vet was concerned about the high protein content on 10 year old kidneys. I tried switching him back to the lamb and barley for the lower protein content but his poor belly reacted horribly to the reintroduction of grains. So I was off to research some more, when I finally found Natural Balance Potato & Duck! I was soooo excited to find a grain free, hypoallergenic formula with a normal protein content. I actually decided to switch BOTH of our dogs onto it and it went over extremely well. It took Dakota a few days to warm up to it, but I wasn't surprised about that considering his history. Now he's licking his bowl clean at meal time and our boston (he gets the small bites version) likes it more than practically any treat I've ever bought. I would highly recommend this food, not only for sensitive tummy pups, but all dogs. The grain free difference is amazing!"

A totally different dog!

"We adopted our Cindy from the pound, thinking her breed was a Ridge Back mix...barely any coat at all. She had runny eyes and all sorts of costly vet vists plus buying very expensive VET food. I talked to someone at the rescue shelter where we got her, she recommended this allergy food. Within a month this dog grew a HUGE coat, I believe she is a Chow/Golden Retreiver now with the fluffy tail and full golden coat. A completely different dog in a month or two.. BRAVO to Natural Balance brand!"

"I really like this product for my animals. They love it as well. It is high in protein and nutrution without all the additive junk that my dogs don't need. It gives them a wonderful coat and they are very healthy. I will always buy from Natural Balance and hope to try more formulas one day. I also feed my foster animals this product. They need the best too."

"Bella is our boston terrier that we thought was dying. We found out she had food allergies so severe that she was having baldness,reddness, paw licking, asthma like symptoms, vomiting and even seizures. We tried every food our holistic vet suggested and finally found this one. The change is remarkable. Her fur has all grown back, the itching has stopped as has the wheezing and vomiting and seizures that were daily are very rare now.
We have been able to take her off Prednisone and her quality of life is 1000% better. It has been a miracle for us."

"We have a Bernese Mountain Dog who had irritable bowels, runny stools, etc. for the first year of her life. We spent hundreds - if not thousands - of dollars in vet and specialist fees, tests, and medications, plus tried various types of high end dog food. After reading reviews and doing some research on Natural Balance, we gave the Potato & Duck formula a try. Within a few days, our dog's stomach had settled down and she was a normal, healthy, happily stooling dog. We are thrilled with the results, and combined with the Potato & Duck treats, have settled on our dog's food for life."

"I have a 15 month old soft coat wheaton terrier and for a year now, he has cost us thousands of dollars in vet bills with pills, ointments,shots, ear infections, loose stools,vomiting, etc. I could go on and on. We tried everything under the sun and actually put an ad in the paper to sell him because of his bad allergies! Then we tried natural balance sweet potato and fish and he got better, no more ear infections, but then came the skin scratching and crusty scabs, hot spots, and so we switched to potato and duck and I literally could cry. He started to get better in a matter of a week! Less scratching and the bumps are going away. I will let you know how it turns out! so far so good! thank you for your products!"

"My one dog, Mocca came to me from a home that wasn't so good. She came with some pedigree dog food that she didn't like and her eyes seemed like they were filmed over and were constantly running. I felt so bad for her. After a couple of weeks, I changed her dog food to Natural Balnance's allergy formula and it was so great to see her eyes just clear up after a couple of weeks. Her eyes doesn't run anymore either. I thought there might be something wrong with her, but after changing her dog food, and someone at petco telling me she might have allergies, I am so glad I did. She's a happier cocker spaniel now and she along with our other dog, a bischon, love the taste of their dog food. They also love the natural balance rolls. They are given that as a treat and they love it! I love the fact that natural balance is very healthy and all natural with no by-products. I would recommend this to everyone."

"We adopted a 3 year old beagle who has a sensitive stomach and itchy skin. A sales clerk at PetCo recommended this food. In less than two weeks all stomach and skin problems were completely gone. "Our son brought home a Rottweiler pup from the Willamette Valley to our home in Central Oregon. She scratched all the time. We couldn't find any fleas so the vet put her on oil drops. Those didn't help so he scrapped her dry patchs to check for mites. No mites. This went on for several months. We brought home from the vet a brand of food they sell. And that didn't help. We went to a Home & Garden Show and Petco had a booth. The Rep From Natural Balance was there. We told her about Dame and she recommended the Duck and Potato Dry dog food. We took home several bags and with in days Dame was scratch free and her coat looks wonderful. We all sleep better at night. We also changed vets, but for another reason."

"My 7 year old Sheltie has had allergy problems for five years. We have tried many foods, and the only one that helped at all was the prescription diet z/d food from the vet. I finally found this and wish I had known about it years ago. She has no symptons at all anymore, has more energy than ever, loves the taste, and I'm spending ALOT less money per bag. This food is great. I recommend this to anyone that even thinks their dog may have a food allergy problem."

"Our English bulldog has been enjoying this product for about a year now. Allergies developed with previous products but no issues with this stuff. My only complaint is that Rocko got chubby when fed the recommended amount, no big deal, cut the food intake and he's back to normal weight. Great product!"

"It's so nice to see a "star" do something so good! My minpin has always had a sensitive stomach and not been able to eat very many brands without getting sick and having her (now beautiful) brown coat look very blotchy. But thankfully a Petco employee recommended Natural Balance and Nellie loves it and she looks great too!!! I tell everyone to try it!"

"This dog food is wonderful. I have 4 goldens,and recently one developed an allergy, so I decided to change them all over to Natural Balance Dog Food. In a short time,I could see a difference in their coats and skin. I love this product and would certainly recommend it to my friends. "My dog is allergic to all chicken products.....I.E. chicken meal, chicken by products, fat, soluables, eggs.......This dog food is the best tasting, best smelling and most compatable for my picky eater. I tried to change to a different brand when I moved and the PETCO in my area did not cover this brand. But my dog did not like the new food, so I ended up ordering natural balance online.....she is happy and has no allergies or problems, and that makes me happy."

"My springer has food allergies. It manifested in the form of ear infections and itchy paws. After trying a few different hypoallergenic foods, I found this one. The ingredients impressed me, and my picky dog eats this stuff up (mixed with a little bit of the canned version). He is not really itchy anymore and his sensitive stomach tolerates this food very well. I love this brand and never plan on feeding my dog anything else"

"We love our labradors. We have 2. They were becoming very expensive upkeep though because both of them were having bad skin allergies and we had no idea what it could have been from. Finally someone referred us to Natural Balance. It's for dogs with bad allergies, skin rashes ect. Well we definitely noticed a difference with this product. We feed our labs a bowl in the morning and a bowl in the evening. They have been on the food for about 5 months now and they haven't had ONE skin problem or rash SINCE! They have also slimmed down in weight and look fantastic. So not only is this food great for allergies, it's wonderful for weight control. The ingredients show you it has everything your pet needs with out all the added crud. I love this product and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone out there looking for something to help with bad skin problems on their dogs."

"My puppy was having loose stool all the time from her dog foods, my doctor recommended Dick Van Patten's Potato and Duck formula. She loves the food, she has normal stool, and her coat is so soft and shiney from it. This is the best dog food I have ever had for any of my dogs. This food is great for dogs with sensitive stomachs, and it's very healthy for them as well.
