"For around the same price, I would recommend Vectra 3D or frontline plus. It's worth the couple dollars more you'll spend, as ticks carry diseases that can be really harmful to your dog. I switched to this from vectra and wish i hadn't- my dog comes back from trips to the country COVERED in ticks. He didn't get a single one on vectra last summer. I haven't noticed any fleas, so i guess it's working, but the ticks really are a problem. Not worth the price, go with another brand."

"I have tried several different products for my golden retriever"Auburn" and advantage (flea&tick) control. Auburn has alot of allergies so my family and I cannot use just any product on her, due to serious allergic reactions. Auburn has beautiful golden- red hair and really cares how she looks. I use the Petco brushes daily because of her thick hair to keep it shining along with the once -amonth- application of advantage. These two products along with other Petco supplies helps Auburn look and feel her best."

Not Working on my dog!!!

"Strange, i have used Advantage on my cat Chloe with good results for years. When i adopted my dog Willow, i figured Advantage would work on her also. It doesnt, not at all! Within one week, she was itching and scratching, and i saw a flea on her. I tried another application, same bad results, even though it had been only 2 weeks since the first dose. Still fleas. I returned to Petco and got Frontline Plus which worked amazing and lasts 4-6 weeks on my dog. I cannot recommend Advantage for dogs. In reading these reviews, maybe its just my dog, but Advantage didnt work for us. Although i would give Advatage 5 stars for my Cat."

Advantage Flea and Tick Control

"I have used Advantage over several other brands for quite some time now. I find it very effective, especially for fleas. Ticks usually die on the dog and become dry and crusted and eventually fall off. Ticks will not be prevented from biting the dog but will suffer an early demise. Fleas on the other hand are absolutely controlled. Advantage is a bit higher in price than other brands but I have found it more effective than other brands and longer lasting. It definately lasts a month when used properly with dosage per weight of dog. Other brands fade faster."

"My dog is alergic to fleas. She will scratch until she has bald spots when ever she is around an area with fleas. Living in CA there are alot of fleas and with Advantage I never have to worry about her having fleas. I love this product, it does what it is suppose to."

"I put Advantage on my dogs less than a month after the last treatment. If it killed any fleas, I couldn't tell the difference. Many of the flea control products seem to have quit working here in New Orleans. I tried Comfortis - a new pill not widely available - and within two hours my lab mix looked like a war zone with dead fleas everywhere.
Luckily, Petco.com has a generous instore return policy that made returning the Advantage an easy process."

"fleas are dead within minutes--it even reduced the number of fleas on the other dog(i had not bathed and applied product to her yet)!! it says once a month, but i have found i can often go longer than that on one application. petcos prices are way lower than buying at the vets office!!"

"I tried Frontline on my two terrier mix dogs. It worked on one but the other either had a bad reaction to the product or it didn't kill her fleas because she chewed and scratched off a lot of hair on her back. I bought and applied Advantage and the result was remarkable - she stopped chewing on herself and her hair grew back. I'm sure it was the Advantage that made the difference and I am a confirmed user now."
