I just got this thermometer today along with a heater from another store and it's been measuring the temp fine! It doesn't float to the top but it bobs around inside the tank, which doesn't actually bother me that much--it's not that big of a deal for me to just reach in and turn it so I can see.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This thermometer is perfectly accurate and even shows where the temperature should be. Also recommend putting gravel on the bottom so it won't float to the top.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'd recomend this to people. It's just a bit annoying because currents and water flow spins it around through out the day and i have to turn it to see the temperature. Hatter was saying that theirs kept floating and then broke. I'd like to say i have had it for over a year and has not broken and is very accurate! It should NOT float at all!!! So if yours floats then return it and get another one!!!!1

I got one of those outside thermometers in a kit and it said nothing about where it went, so being new to this fish thing when I bought it months ago I stuck it on the inside. Apparently, Im not the only one from talking with other people. This one though I have weighted down for the most part on the bottom and I love it. Its so easy to read, and it doesn't hit up against anything if you bury the bottom slightly. The only problem is it does rotate around and I have to reach in and re adjust it occasionally.

I actually liked it when I got it, especially the line in which tells you what the temperature should be for certain aquatic fishes or turtles, but sadly, the blasted thing broke within 3 months of use. The glass was too thin first of all, and each time it floats, it would bang into something.
would not recommend to anyone.

What I like about this is that it floats and it can attach to the aquarium glass. it also has the green part that shows the temperature tropical fish should be in.
I would recommend this to a friend!
