Great tank
Date: October 7, 2009
"Ive had this tank about 2 weeks and i love it! i didnt put the divider so my betta has the whole tank to himself. The plants it came with were stiff and didnt stay in the ground so instead i bought a PETCO Ruby Platonia Betta Plant. It good and my fish loves to go inside the leaves. It is also very easy to clean. In all i say its a great tank for a betta!"

Waaaay too small
Date: August 4, 2009
"I would never put 2 bettas in this tank. The entire tank is enough for a temporary
housing for one betta, but two is asking way too much.

Good but hard to get the fish out!
Date: March 9, 2009
"I use this little tank to keep my show bettas in while I change their larger tanks.
The shape of this little tank makes it a little hard to get the fish out with a net.

pretty cool buy
Date: July 19, 2008
"i love them! Very easy to use and a great size. only problem is the plants are a lil rough and kinda pointy, get those small plant bulbs through them in and there you go. all you need is a water conditioner and the fish and your good to go."

cheap
Date: July 13, 2008
"The plants are stiff and scratchy; the bottom water change seemed like a good idea but the water drained out and left the sewer stuff under the rocks. The next day, the water had leaked out almost to the bottom...I could not believe the 2 bettas were still alive in the small amount of water. I had to superglue it twice to stop the leaks, so now I have to dump the water to change it. I do like the easy-to-remove lid, but I'm going to get a better tank (2, since I have 2 fish)"

On the go homes
Date: April 23, 2008
"After breeding and raising betta's for a while I wanted to find a home that was small and moveable since I am on the go very often. In the best sense I used larger tanks, like the 2.5 which are great, but such a fuss to move and clean. These worked great for moving my betta's! I had normally between 10-20 adults at a single time and these tanks were really helpful. I would match males and females or just males to eachother based on colouration and then add in matching marbles.
Don't use the plants! These are very pokey and can harm your fish! The gravel is ok, but since I like to match I just bought my own.
It's a great starter kit for anyone, comes with everything you need.
It's about a 1/2 gallon size even with 2 bettas they still had room to move and swim.
The lid is great because I know how terrible it is to find your fishy missing...then see it on the floor.
Great price and good quality.
If you only plan on having one betta then I suggest buying something bigger and fancier to spoil him, but this is great for breeders!!

Great for breeding!
Date: March 22, 2008
"This setup isn't the absolute best for keeping and displaying your bettas, but is perfect for breeding to get the female to start producing eggs. It works great!"

really enjoy this product
Date: February 14, 2008
"I bought this product along with a male and female betta. I am a first time betta owner and I really like this bowl. The divider works great to keep the 2 fish seperate. I will continue to use this product."

Good short term
Date: October 19, 2007
"While i was emptying my 2.5 of my baby platys it provided me with a setup for two days, but i would never keep a betta in here long term since no filtration can fit in and the shape distorts your view of your fish"

it was ok...
Date: July 23, 2007
"i bought this thinking it would be cool cause i like bettas and to have two in one would be awesome. but it makes me worry about the bettas hurting themselves because they stretch their gills all day. but i definetly don't use the plants they are pathetic. another problem is not hot enough for the bettas they prefer warm water and ist alwyas clod."

Excellent for small spaces
Date: May 7, 2007
"My boss gave me a betta to keep at work. This bowl is excellent for small spaces, so I keep him on my desk. Everyone comments on how cute the bowl is and loves the fact that it drains from the bottom, so the fish doesn't have to be removed every time. I took the divider out and he has the whole bowl to roam. He is very happy, active and is eating well."

Looks Cheap
Date: March 15, 2007
"My son bought this when he bought his betta and it has a cheap-looking appearance. The plants don't stay in the gravel, either, they float to the top. You get what you pay for, so if you want something that will look decent, spend a little more money. I ended buying the Mini Bow 1 Junior Aquarium Kit - a MUCH nicer home for "Fred" :-)"

"I use this small configuration WITHOUT the plants and the divider to house a female betta when I'm introducing her to the male in my 10 gallon.
I can't really see much use in this product unless you have to move a fish somewhere.

Not big enough for 2 betta males!!!!!
Date: February 23, 2006
"This product is FAR too small to house 2 male bettas. Not to mention that the plant is hard on their fins. They don't have anywhere to go to get away from the plant, and it will shred their fins. There are no breathing holes in the lid, which is ESSENTIAL for a betta.
NEVER buy this product, especially if you want to put 2 males across from each other. They will flare constantly and stress themselves out.
Would YOU want to live in something that small where you could barely turn around? "

Far too small.
Date: February 22, 2006
"Bettas require a minimum of half a gallon per fish to survive (one gallon per one inch of fish is ideal - hence, a two inch long fish should ideally have a two gallon setup). This setup barely allows the bettas room to move; the equivalent of living in a closet for one's entire life. Kudos for including Hikari betta food, but negative points for not including enough air holes - bettas are labyrinth fish and need access to oxygen to breath. Much better as a display for a fake fish than a live one."

Okay...
Date: February 12, 2006
"I bought another betta and I was looking to buy a penn plax betta bow-front double tank kit like i have 2 of already, but the store was out, so i bought the lee's instead, since it was the same size, had divider, etc. I won't buy this one again...first off, I dont like the way it is shaped, it distorts your view of the fish. Second, there are 2 TINY airholes in the lid, and if you have slightly warmer water than the air in your room it fogs up and doesn't allow much oxygen into the tank. This is bad for air breathers like bettas. Third, unlike the penn plax tank, it has no easy clean system, there is no drain from the bottom or undergravel grate. Its ok, but I LOVE the penn plax double tank much more...i recommend buying real plants though, they look so nice and wont snag your fish's fins. "

no air holes for breathing
Date: January 18, 2006
"This tank is nice in order to keep both bettas in same space with divider but the lid that goes on top only has one tiny pin point air hole for each side. The box says you can put the lid on and stack the tanks. Bettas breathe by coming to the surface for air ,if you put the lid all the way on they would smother. I had to put the lid on cockeyed and weight it to allow air exchange but not allow the the two males to jump at each other over the top. "
