"It is taller than my other cat scratching post at home but the base is not sturdy enough. My 4 month old kitten can climb on it without any problems but my full-grown cat has figured out that she is too big and heavy for it as she is able to knock it over quite easily."

"My 2 kittens love this.. it was very easy to put together, only took a few minutes to do... They love napping on this.. chasing each other on it and wrestling, and scratching their nails on it.. the price is very reasonable and not crazy like some of the other cat scratchers out there... this is a great buy, I would reccomend it! However for very large cats I don't know if it would really hold up, but then again I'm not sure because I have two kittens 3 months old.. so for now its really great and I think this will last a long time!"

Best scratcher for the price

"I am probably on my 4th or 5th one of these scratchers. Our cats LOVE them. They tear the bottom pole to shreds in about 2-3 months. When they do, we just take it apart and switch the positions of of the poles. They knock it over now and then when playing around the house, but they still scratch and sleep on it. For the price, you can't beat this thing."

"I have 2 cats that love these. I am on my 3rd since my cats scratch all the carpeting off the posts in about a year. But for the price it's worth it. Just be careful to not let the posts get damp (aka if a cat pees on it) since they are made of cardboard and will rip apart. (Lesson learned when i watched one cat dump the other onto the floor when the bottom went. Quite amusing.)"

Worth the Money

"I have two cats that love this. I've had it for 3 years - they eventually scratched down the carpet on the top post and I was able to switch the posts so they had fresh carpet at the height they liked. I am buying them another one to start working on. Only downside - you can't pick the carpet color, but they are all neutral and for this price - who cares?"

"We had this for our one cat who loved to run and jump on it as we walked by, but over a short period, the bottom pole started to break-away from the base. We added more of our own screws to try and hold it, but it eventually just completely broke ."
