"I have two cats, and they just love this. I did get this for them when they were kittens, but they're bigger now and they still love it and play with it. I do admit, it is easy for them to tip over, but they think it's a new toy when this happens. I would definately recomend this for any cat or kitten owner. In fact, I want to get a second one to put somewhere else in the house. "

"This was the best purchase ever for my kitty. He thinks he is the Prince of the house now that he can almost see us at eye level. We have another cat that cannot jump, so we keep his food on this top and he loves it."

"We have had the California Cat Condo for a couple of months now. Our kitten who is 5 months old just learned how to jump up on the top level. He loves it and scratches it everyday. The only thing is that our kitty dose not like it go into the bottom part."

"My cat is 7 lbs. and loves this. She stretches out on the perch on top and is comfortable for hours. I've also seen her in the cubby a few times and it would be appealing for cats who like a hidey-hole. I agree with the other reveiwers who recommended it more for smaller cats. Also, when we assembled it, my boyfriend did have to punch in holes for the screws, but it was no big deal and well worth the effort!"

"I got this for my cat, Jacques. My husband was complaining I was spending too much on things for our newly adopted family member, but Jacques didn't like the first scratching post we got him, so we needed a better one. He couldn't scratch the old one effectively because every time he dug his claws in, it would tip over on him when he'd drag his claws down. I got this one because the price was right, and I figured with the wide base, it wouldn't tip. (I didn't read the on-line reviews first. Oops!) At first, it was great, and Jacques just loved it, especially his "sun deck" on top. But then, he started taking these flying leaps to get on top of it, and the whole thing would tip over. I took some hand weights that are now too light for me, and I put them in the bottom chamber, so it doesn't tip over when he does that anymore. Unfortunately, he doesn't like going in the chamber now, but he loves the sun deck, and he loves the sissal scratching post in the middle. Overall, I think this thing is great, but I do wish it wouldn't tip over without the weights in the bottom so my cat could make the most of all the features of it."

Good for Kittens

"I bought this for my two kittens and it was great up until they were about 8 months old. They're starting to get more daring, not to mention heavier, and so it is starting to tip over. I took it away for a while and hid it in a closet but they sneak in there and wonder why I took their condo away. I have reinforced it for now by leaning in up against other furniture until I can get them a big cat sized condo to replace it."

"Since most cat condos this size cost atleast twice as much I can't complain too much. When I got the condo the top shelf did not have a whole in it for the bolt so I had to make a hole in that. Other than that it was easy to put together and pretty sturdy. I also like it because it is not as big and bulky or tacky as the larger ones I have seen. The bottom condo is also a little too small for my cats which don't seem to be bigger than the average cat. They seem to enjoy the box it came in rather than the actual condo. Oh well...I guess you get what you pay for."

Perfect for kitten

"My Kitten, Monty, LOVES this kitty condo. I bought him so many things when I got him and this has been my best investment to date. He loves hiding in the enclosed space and even drags his prey (feather toys, tissues and my socks) in there. As soon as he discovered it he started scratching it and he hasn't tried to scratch anything else in the house- he loves biting the rope and the catnip definately gets him worked up. My only complaint is that it's a little too easy for him to tear out the carpeting with his teeth so I often find myself sweeping bits of carpet off the floor- but it's a small price to pay to get him all worked up so he'll be tired for bed time! I enclosed a picture of him on his favorite toy- the kitty condo."

Worth the money!

"OK, it tips when my cat comes flying through the house and jumps on it, but I've had the condo for a few years and I'm suprised at how well it has held up. It is so much less expensive than most other cat furniture. I have mine next to my sofa and my cat just hops from the sofa to the top perch of the condo. It doesn't move when she scratches or stretches. None of my cats have ever gone inside the condo, however -- neither this or the previous one we had."

"I adopted a cat from the Humane Society a few weeks ago and noticed he liked to cuddle up in small spaces. The cat condo looked perfect plus the sisal scratcher is a great bonus, he just loves to stretch his claws. It turned out that he loved it and that couldn't make either of us happier. Tips over too easy

"The Condo was actually pretty good while our two cat were small. However, now that they are fully grown (and a little on the large size), the Condo is too small for them use as expected. Not just their size, but their jumping power causes the Condo to tip over easily. If there was some heavier material in the base for balance, this might be better. Again, it's good for kitten and probably for smaller cats."
