"My cats fought over this thing. They absolutely loved the self-scratching feature, even without the catnip. But add the catnip and watch out. They go crazy. Only problem sI had was making sure they took turns and having enough catnip to keep them happy. I highly recommend this to anyone with cats that love to be petted or scratched. They'll thank you."

"Both of our cats were immediately drawn to the cat spa. These are two cats that normally ignore every toy that we bring home. One cat loves to be brushed and grooms herself using the brushes then falls asleep on the pads. The other chews on the gum brush...trying to get to the catnip. Putting catnip under the brushes and chew definitely attract them."

"The interest in this toy was surprising from my cats. My fat girl hates catnip (she's weird), but likes the gum stimulator and laying on the bumpy surface. She does not like to be held, but likes this thing.
My spastic boy cat loves rubbing his face all over everyone (especially guys with facial hair) so I thought he would love the combs but they are a little too stiff and prickly for him. All he has been trying to do is get the catnip out (he's an addict). However, he enjoys the piece that the gum stimulator sits on and rubbing on that. He doesn't care much for this thing though, he has too much energy.
The design of the toy is good, but it is overpriced. I prefer the stand-up self groomers."

It Was So Much Fun...For 3 Days!

"When I pulled this incredibly designed toy out of the box, both of my girls were simply over-joyed - they can tell when it's a gift for them!
Well, they don't like to share...at all - BUT, this device took that problem away. One needs to take the jelly-like hair ball remedy and had lost interest in it. WELL, all I had to do was squeeze out the 1/2" gel onto the softly bumpy surface and you would have thought I'd given her cavier! Then I put it on the rubber tip and she massaged all of her teeth, too!
Meanwhile, her little sister was just brushing up against the three areas with little plastic "brushed" on them. The purring was so loud, I had to go into another room to make a phone call.
All of this went on for 3 days.
THEN IT ALL STOPPED. IMMEDIATELY. NO NOTICE. NOTHING.
So, knowing how cats get tired of their toys, I put it away for 4 weeks and pulled it out again. Both walked right by it and neither has ever approached this miracle toy again. I was sick. It was finally going to make it easy to get medication into the older one and the two could share nicely.
It's probably just my cats. But, talk about disappointed owners! Now, they do have 2 toys that if I took them away for 3 hours there would be crying in the hallways - so some things they can "attach" too, others not.
I'm leery to rate this as I believe my cats are nuts - but if you have a mentally challenged little one - think twice!"

"i got this yesterday and as soon as i got it all assembled, i added the catnip and she was on her way. this was about 6pm yesterday and i woke up this morning to go to work and she was still on it and that is 5am. she slept with it and woke up playing with it. she loves the bristles. i wouldnt have thought of anything better for her. get it....it is so cute to see her on it too."

"I suspect that it's the cats who are nuts for catnip that enjoy the Cat Spa. I dump fine quality nip all over the thing and my two use each and every feature. Whoever designed this knows cat behavior extremely well. Now I have to find replacements for the "gum stimulator" that has been gnawed to a nub."

"I have 2 cats, 1 not old enough to know what it is (9 wks) and the other loves to be pet, but neither of them will use it. my 1 yr old wont go near it, even when theres catnip and the baby just jumps on it, like its just another perch. Total waist of $$!!"

"This is so fun for the kitties. We bought this and the cats could not love it more. It is one of the best things purchased for them. They can scratch and roll on it. The catnip holder in the middle makes it even more of a treat for them. I recommend this to anyone with a cat."

"I had 3 cats that wouldn't use this. The only thing they did use was the chew thing on top, so I put kitty tooth paste on it so they would clean their teeth. Over all, too much space taken for what they used it for. I gave it to a friend, their cat likes it."

"Well my cats took some time to get used to the cat spa. At first they would only try to get to the catnip at the top, but after a few days, two of my five cats started rubbing against everything and lounged all over the spa. Now they all love it!

"Have had the cat spa for a few years with no problems. Recently however the spikes have been breaking off and the top piece falls out all the time. May present a greater problem than just the throwing up (thank goodness) of the pieces. Those spikes are sharp enough to cause real damage if swallowed. I have reluctantly disposed of mine. The cats really liked it but I don't think it's worth the risk of an injury."

Good idea, BUT...

"The places to put the catnip in for the pads are difficult to fill (remove them, fill channels in pad, and put back in) and spill when putting back on. The toy takes up more floor space than it looks like it would. The white parts look dirty really fast. The only part my cat like was the top holder, and he was able to get it open resulting in one of the tabs breaking, so now it doesn't stay on."
