Worth the money

"I bought this a week and a half ago. No assembly which was great. We bought it for our cats because they loved drinking out of our dripping faucets, but then we got the plumbing fixed so they didn't have fresh water. they were afraid of it when it was one so for 2 days we unplugged it so they could get used to it. After that we turned it back on and one by one they started drinking from it and now they love it. They are definitely drinking more water now. Would definitely recomend this product."

"If you have probelms with arm and hand strenth don't buy this. I can't get the motor out to clean it. I have fybromalgia which makes it difficult to use my arms and hands. I can't get my hands into the very small place they give you to get the motor out. I'm going to have to stop using it since I can't clean it. Also if have have large fingers you will have great difficulty getting the motor out."

"Our spoiled girl had gotten so she only wanted to drink from the faucet. She would be waiting when we woke up, got home from work etc. We purchased this system. Spoiled brat took to it immediately. It's been 5 days now and she hasn't even asked for a drink from the faucet!!(and she used to DEMAND, not ask). We can now go away weekends without worry."

Fantastic water fountain!

"The Drinkwell is absolutely FANTASTIC! I use it for my dog. He is such a finicky drinker, and hardly ever drank water from a regular dog bowl! Someone recommended the Drinkwell to entice him to drink more water. From the minute I brought it home, he has absolutely LOVED it! He never drinks from the bottom of the bowl...only from the running fountain part!
A couple of downsides of this fountain: I had to use some tape to hold the lid down. When my dog would drink from the spout, it would lift the whole lid up and the filter would be inside. Once I taped it down, it solved that problem. Another issue is I find it a little difficult to clean. I take every little part apart to clean it well. After a week or so, I find it gets very slimey! All surfaces that water touches, gets a slimey film on it that must be cleaned very well. I have had my Drinkwell for a little over a year and a half, and now have to purchase a new one because it is leaking from SOMEWHERE! I can not figure out where the problem is, I just know I have a puddle of water on my floor all the time now. The benefits far outweigh the problems, and I will be buying a 2nd one right away...as Joey probably wouldn't be a happy camper if I made him drink from a regular dog bowl!"

"I am a slacker. Yes, it's true...I'm guilty of not changing my cats' water as much as I should have been.
When it was determined that one of my cats only has one kidney, I knew I'd have to step up my performance! I researched the Drinkwell and decided it would be a good move for us all. Both cats took to the fountain immediately (despite some warnings that skittish cats may be terrified of it) and there's been no looking back!
The fountain makes a heckuva racket when it's low on water so you won't be likely to forget to fill it! I recently purchased the largest reservoir to make sure the pals were well hydrated during a weekend on their own.
Whether or not you're a slacker, I highly recommend getting one of these - you won't be sorry! :)"

"I bought this fountain three months ago for my 18-year-old cat. She was always dehydrated, vomited a lot, but even though I changed out her water 2 or 3 times per day, I couldn't get her to drink much. Within a few hours of me setting up this fountain, she was hooked. Now she is so attached to this thing that she spends all day sleeping next to it! She is drinking more, her coat looks better, and she's vomiting much, much less. My other two cats (a 3-year-old and a 6-month-old) are crazy about the fountain too. They don't have any health issues, and with them drinking more water, hopefully they won't develop any for a long time.
Once a month, I take the fountain apart and put all the parts through the dishwasher, so the cats are without their fountain for an hour or two. When I put it back on the floor, they all gather around it, pawing at it, eagerly waiting for me to fill it with water and get it running again. I am so happy that I found this product; I feel it'll give me a little more time with my elderly kitty and will give my two younger guys longer, healthier lives. Every cat should have one of these fountains."

"We have 2 cats and recently got the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. They were curious as soon as we set it up, and it didn't take long for them to start drinking up the water! I definitely recommend getting the reservoir attachment, then you only have to refill the water every few days--we've noticed some evaporation with the dry winter air. Your cats will love it!"

"This is the best purchase that I have ever made for my cats. I figured that they loved running water when they would always stick there heads under the faucet, and I was right! They love the Drinkwell Fountain and have tons of fun drinking from it and also sticking their heads and paws in it!
I also purchased the Aqua Garden to go into the fountain and that was also a GREAT investment. My cats cannot get enough of the grass. It is also great for digestion and hairballs...How could you go wrong????"

"I like the fountain now if only my cat would drink from it. It was easy to set up and cleaning was a snap. Very quiet. The grass I like because I buy 1-2 already grown grass a month for my cat anyway and this should cut down the cost plus I don't have to water it. And I'm sure once Sophie realizes that it's water and safe she will love it too."

"This fountain was great for my 13 year old cat who got kidney disease at age 12 with a bladder infection. He was supposed to drink lots of water but he would only drink from a dripping faucet. Everybody in the house either was at work or at school so all we could do is leave a bowl filled with water out during the day. We would come home and Spike (my cat) would be sitting on the sink waiting for us to turn it on. He never had water without a dripping faucet so....... For Christmas we got him the Pet Fountain and he was sooo happy. Now he drinks from it all the time."

"The design of this model is not good!
The plastic pump "screws" into the plastic reservoir from underneath, by pushing and turning it into place.
The pump is hard to remove and replace.
I've only had mine 3 months and the last time I went to replace the pump after cleaning, the side of the plastic reservoir that the pump screws into cracked, making it leak and useless!"

"My cat used this during the last year of her 17 years of life. It helped her gain weight which she needed. She always got nice looong drinks from the flowing water. "I bought this product a year ago and have been okay with it. Even using filtered water and the drinkwell filter it seemed to have a nasty and slimy build up. The product was easy to clean, I decided to replace it due to the fact that it was spilling water all over my kitchen floor (after thinking the cats where making a mess I discovered they had nothing to do with the water all over the floor). Also I tryed to grow the grass in it and it just made a bigger slimy mess (I don't recomend that option at all). The noise was not to bad and my cats did enjoy the fresh water."

"My cat suffered from urinary crystals - the vet suggested he was not drinking enough. After we bought this fountain, he loves drinking water - before he would only drink off his paws or from the faucet. He loves to stick his face under the running water and is mesmerized by the stream. We have had our fountain for something like 7 years or more and it is still going strong! This does need to be cleaned occasionally or it will get moldy, but with intermittent cleanings, you cant go wrong. With this fountain and a prescription diet, our cat has not had any more problems! We will probably upgrade to the larger fountain or purchase another now that another cat has adopted us."

"This is great for our cats who won't drink from a bowl and have gotten urniary tract infections. I'd recommend using distilled water because it helps with uti's and prevents hard water stains. If you don't buy the reservoir you'll have to fill it every other day and won't be able to use it while on vacation because it will dry out and over heat. It's easy to clean and put back together."

"When I first got my kitten, she didn't drink any water. I started off by adding water to her wet food, but wanted to switch her to a combination of wet and dry food. So I bought this fountain and prayed that the $50+ was worth it. It's worth it a 100 times over. She loves her fountain. She drinks tons of water now. She drinks both from the bowl as well as from the stream of water. She also enjoys playing with the water, batting at the stream of water, and diverting it with her paw. It isn't that noisy, only when there isn't enough water in the bowl or when it is first pumping the water. This product is definately worth it. Buy it and your kitty with be in paradise."

"I just bought this fountain today for my cat, and minutes after I set it on the ground she was drinking from the stream of water. Before I bought this, she would only drink from the faucet, which was cute at first but became rather annoying when she would sit on the sink and meow constantly until someone turned the water on.
I have wanted to purchase one of these for a while, but was hesitant because I thought $50 was a little steep for a water bowl. Now that I have it, I couldn't be happier and neither could my cat! It was so adorable to watch her drink from the spout then come rub against me and go back and drink from it again. I think she was saying thank you."

"We purchased the "cat" fountain about 18 months ago as our cat would only drink from her water dish if she saw us change the water. Recently we added a beagle puppy to our family, which is why we got the resevoir for it. Both Pikka (our cat) & Max (our puppy) LOVE the goofy thing. It is super and the water stays fresh & clean which is an awesome feat with a 16 wk old puppy. I can't stress just how much our "4 legged children" like it and our 2 legged sons think its pretty cool too"
