This is our second drinking fountain. We sold another brand of drinking fountain we had bought previously in a garage sale because it was too cumbersome to set up.
The Drinkwell comes preassembled. Just pop the filter in and add water and plug it in. The white one has a blue tinge to it and is made of good quality plastic. AND it has an ample large drinking resevoir. It's easy to adjust the water flow.
My cats have been frisky and playful since they got their drinkwell. I love it! I cant wait to grow some hydroponic grass in their drinking well too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My kitty likes to lap at the running water in the bathroom sink; so I figured I'd buy him his own bowl that he could drink from without getting into trouble for being on the counter.
I did a lot of research before selecting a water fountain for my cat b

We have 7 cats & 1 small dog. They all love the Drinkwell fountain, some even play with it. We also bought the Drinkwell reservoir Plus, filters & brush set.
Its easy to take the reservoir on & off to fill. This system sure beats cleaning & changing water bowls several times a day! You do have to Hand Wash this. DO NOT put this in the dishwasher! It will get distorted from the heat! For calcium buildup try scrubbing brush & vinegar comes right off. With Summer coming on your pets will Thank You for purchasing this Drinkwell Fountain for them. Ours did!

My cat likes to play with a dripping water faucet and drink from the toilet. We got her the fountain to give her something else to drink from and maybe a toy too. She loves the fountain, drinks from it often and likes to play with it. We are both happy with the fountain. Only had the product a week so I do not know about its durability - seems to be well built. It is running 24/7.

I am afraid I am going to have to send it back as its makes more than a "low hum" as advertised. Its quite loud. In the middle of the night when I awake all I hear is this loud buzzing noise.
My cat refuses to even eat his food near this noisy thing.
I love the concept of this fountain, pity its so loud!!

My cat took to this fountain right away. She loves running water and was constantly begging us to refill her water bowl if there was even so much as a hair in her bowl. But this fountain provides fresh, clean, running water, and she drinks from the well and also from the stream.
It's not silent - I noticed other reviewers were worried about the noise, and yes, you can hear the motor running (and also the water bubbling!). So it is quiet, but not silent, and I don't think you'll find a much quieter fountain, especially for the value.
Set up was super easy - but do be sure to read the directions, as they are VERY helpful.

My cats both love water so they didn't waste any time getting use to their new fountain. Both were drinking from it within a few hours and it is easy to take apart and clean. It's fairly quiet except when the water level decreases, but then you just add more water and the noise level adjusts.

My cat loved this fountain, but I found extremely hard to clean. The motor is nearly impossible to get in and out. I finally got so frustrated with it I threw it out and am now looking for a new fountain.

We found out that our cat was diabetic. We wanted to give him everything that might help. He absolutely loves his new fountain. He never drinks out of the shared water bowl with the dogs. This is a great product. Also, got the pet grass attachment to the fountain that works well.

We have owned this brand of fountain for about 8 years prior to this purchase. The old one just finally gave up. We have a crazy pet that doesn't like changes so we were glad we were able to find the exact match. If this one lasts only half as long as the first then it's a real bargain.

This just arrived, but it looks like the cats will be okay with it. They got accustomed to t he motor's hum easily. I had a bit of trouble removing the motor (I tested it before using with the cats). It was VERY stiff to rotated to removal position. I'll try their suggestion of petroleum jelly to lubricate it. My biggest problem turned out to be reorganizing my bathroom so the water was near enough to the outlet!

Our cats all drink happily from our two fountains. They are easy to clean, and do not wear out. These are well engineered, sturdy, dependable fountains that provide clear clean water for our cats. I have the reservoirs and they keep the fountains supplied for more than a day. (Nine cats drink lots!) I highly recommend the basic original fountain as the most "bang for the buck."

This fountain truly does function perfectly and is very quite. It doesn't leak, it has the perfect setting options, and my cat loves it. BUT this fountain grows mold like crazy! I follow the directions and recommendations to a T and even wash it in the dishwasher twice a week and then sanitize it afterwards. Yet, there's always mold growing on it within two days of washing. I even use bottled water to put in it, so I know it's not a matter of my local water source. It is very easy to clean and assemble/disassemble but it's also very annoying to have to clean it more than once a week. I am going to be returning this and buying a stainless steel fountain instead since those are way more efficient when it comes to preventing mold and bacteria.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the third Drinkwell fountain we have purchased for our multiple cat home. This is an ideal item for cats who like to drink from a running faucet. The fountains are very well made and I have had the oldest one for 6 years already without having any performance problems. You do need to clean the fountain regularly but it is easy to disassemble. We have been very satisfied with this model so have not tried any of the more expensive models.

Our cat, a rescued stray we took in several months ago, drove us nuts demanding that we turn a faucet for him to drink. He took to the Drinkwell Fountain within 2 minutes of it being filled and turned on! Best investment ever!
We are even going to take it with him on RV trips (using a plug-in 200 amp inverter to convert 12vdc to 110 vac for use when dry camping).

My cats love this item, they are drinking more water and i have a cat that used to "play" in the water bowl just to get the water moving, now that we have the fountain, she is not doing that, she is drinking and not playing with the water,,,they do love the stream of water, my only gripe is that the water gets warm, should have maybe spent more as I believe the higher priced one cooled the water?
