"Our Scottie pulled so hard that both my husband and I were unable to enjoy taking him for a walk. He pulled so hard that my husbands shoulders were always hurting. We used a choke chain but it made no difference. The last straw was one night while I was walking my dog he pulled me so hard that I fell down.
I got on to Petco's website looking for a harness or some kind of collar that wouldn't choke the dog and keep him from pulling and found Gentle Leader. I read the reviews and decided that since the reviews were so good, we had nothing to lose trying Gentle Leader and seeing what happens. Well, our dog bucked around like a colt for a few minutes and then we saw we had it on wrong! OOPS! We placed it on the right way and WOW! It was like we got a brand new dog! Even when we took him to his favorite park...which he usually pulled us through at 90 miles an hour, he walked normally!
I'll never go back to the choke chain.
Thank you Gentle Leader. I'll recommed this product to every pulling dogs' parents I run into."

"I purchased the gentle leader for my german shepard / lab mix, because even with a choke chain he was pulling and draging me along or trying to trip me. The 1st time i put the leader on he he tried to take it off but soon realized that he wasn't in control anymore I was. Now we can go for walks without being drug or for a jog and not being tripped."

"My dog is a very energetic and excited dog. Whenever we would go on walks, he would constantly be trying to pull me and be wandering all over the place heedless of my commands and struggling against him. I dreaded walking him because it was actually starting to hurt my body. However, our very first walk on the Gentle Lead Headcollar was like walking a different dog! He stopped pulling, started doing what I wanted him to, and was an angel on the leash. I would highly recommend this product for any dog owner who isn't able to enjoy their walks with their dogs due to excessive pulling. It was totally worth the extra money I paid for it, even on our tight budget."

"The gentle leader is a great training tool for dogs that don't walk well on a loose leash. It requires patience in order for the dog to get used to having the harness over their muzzle. But it does a tremendous job of helping them learn to walk on a leash without pullingt."

"I like it better than the other cuss it doesn't get too close to the eyes. Hawk still doesn't like it but he goes along fine. It looks better than the pinch collar and I can use this one to go into a classroom.....Thanks"

"I have a 15 month old Labrador retriever. My dog pulls on walks, and so I did some research on how to fix it. I found out how head collars stop pulling. Since I had a big dog, I had my doubts. But I still came to this website. The reviews totally made me change my mind and I bought it! It's amazing! The reviews were right! My dog stopped pulling and dragging me along on walks. It's a miracle!"

"Holy Guacamole!!! I got two 2 1/2 year old boxers and the only HARD thing to do with them was take them walking in the neighborhood. They would pull and pull and cry whenever they saw ANY other animal. Then the male would get ansy and nip and the female because I guess he wanted to "Smell" the other animal. I would panic everythime I see another animal and let me tell you trying to hold two of these strong dogs back was not fun at all!!
Now with the Gentle Leader, I cant believe it! OMG, It's like Day and Night, Big change. NO pulling, very very little barking and crying, No nipping at each other, etc....I LOVE IT. It's so calm, I can walk them with the leash around one finger!! Have patience and read directions. Lots of praise and treats so they get used to it. At first, the female was even afraid to walk and was trying to take it off. But talking to her and taking baby steps, she was good to go!
I would recommened this product to every pet owner who has a "Hard" time taking a stroll in the park : )"

"I was very skeptical towards this product...at first. Then when I bought it, it works GREAT!! I adpoted a Rottweiler from the Humane Society and this dog was abused and neglected. When I got him, he did not know how to walk on a leash. He would misbehave when I was taking him for a walk. He pulled me down a hill. My shoulders and back would always hurt. He would pull me and drag me along...till I got this collar.
After I got it on him...it was like a different dog. He listened and walked along without pulling me. It is great. He even allows other dogs to come up and play with him. Now he knows that I am boss.
If you are stressed out about walking your dog, please try this. It is a God sent!!!"

"We recently adopted a rescue boxer. This poor girl had zero training. She has resisted (strenuously!) every collar and training aid that we initially tried. After 30 minutes wearing the gentle leader our little lady finally submitted. Our trainer is amazed at the transformation in her behavior and willingness to comply in just one week. The poor man thought that we had visited with another trainer! This collar has worked wonders for us."

"The gentle leader headcoller is the only way to go when training a new puppy to walk on leash without pulling you every where. I have two siberian huskey pup's 5 months old and all they want to do is pull real hard. with the gentle leader headcoller they never pull.

"I originally purchased this for my Lab/Boxer mix puppy at about 3 months old. He pulled so hard on the lead that he was choking himself with a regular collar, and walks were no fun for either of us. He would lunge so hard at times that it would almost pull my arm out of the socket, and twice pulled me off balance so that I fell down (once down a hill; how embarassing!). The gentle leader was an immediate improvement, even though it was a bit big for him as a puppy and he is still growing into it. He doesn't like it when I first put it on, so I tried a nylon "limited choke" collar for a while, but it was useless. I'm back to the gentle leader now for good. It's a keeper."

"My Chow mix used to pull and strangle herself when we would take walks just using her regular collar and a leash. Once I bought a Gentle Leader, I was able to train my dog how to properly take a walk. She no longer pulled because she wasn't able to do so without turning herself around. It's a great product that protects both owners and pets."

"My mixed breed is a total escape artist when it comes to traditional leashes, collars, and harnesses. If he sees another dog, or any one of the many animals that inhabit my neighborhood, I am left dragging an empty harness down the sidewalk while my dog takes off after his prize. He has been able to get out of no-pull harnesses and even choke chains. Either that, or he physically injures himself pulling on the lead. He has that uncanny ability to back out of anything you put on him and take off into the woods. I grew increasingly worried for his safety, not only from cars but from coyotes and bobcats that live around this area (he is only 18 lbs).
Along with all that, he pulled like crazy and caused me back and neck pain (he was that strong). We tried dog trainers, videos, books, etc. Nothing seemed to work. I heard about the Gentle Leader and was initially skeptical since nothing else had worked.
This was one of the best investments I have ever made. Not only does it stop my dog from pulling like crazy, it also prevents him from backing out of it in order to run off and chase animals. I feel the Gentle Leader has made my dog a lot safer and it makes walks a lot more fun. He is a lot calmer and more obedient. It's like it prevents his mind from escalating, so he listens a lot more to me and pays less attention to passing dogs or animals running around.
I can't recommend this product enough. I tell everyone about it. I wholeheartedly recommend this product to every single friend and family member who owns a tough-to-control dog. I will be using Gentle Leaders on all my dogs, present and future.

Ps- I have been using the Gentle Leader for about 4 months now. Your dog will get used to it if it is fitted properly. They might freak out initially but they will calm down over time and now my dog actually "helps" me put it on by aiming his nose through the little loop. :)"
