"Great food! My three cats absolutely love it and get very excited and hyperactive when they see me bring a new bag home. I've been using it for 2 months. I feed less of it than my previous brand (the serving sizes are smaller), and my kitties are thriving. Coats have improved a great deal. They are thicker and softer and shinier and the color is more vibrant, almost with an iridescent shimmer on my tortoiseshell and solid black cats. My Persian's ears do not have as much waxy buildup as before. Shedding has decreased. Cats seem to have more energy. Litter box odor is a mixed bag. Urine odor is MUCH less strong, but stool odor has increased, perhaps due to the higher meat protein concentration. However, stools are smaller and firmer than on the old food. Overall, I'm very satisfied."

What a Difference!!!!

"I have a 3yr old tabby that I adopted from the shelter over a year and a half ago. Since the day we got her, she has been throwing up on a regular basis. The vet said it was likely hairballs so we put her on a hairball treatment plan, including special food. When one brand didn't help, we switched to another for a while to see if it made a difference and nothing worked! A few months ago we adopted a kitten from a friend who had a litter and since both cats were eating out of the same dish, the older cat started eating the kitten food too, but even that was only a mild improvement. Then one day while I was at PETCO, I explained my problem to the service agent and he recommended the Natural Balance Ultra Cat food because not only was it the finest ingredients but because it wasn't formulated for a specific age group. Within a week she stopped throwing up completely, even without the hairball treatments!!!! Thank you PETCO and Thank you Natural Balance!!!"

"I recently switched to Natural Balance from Wellness, which are both great quality foods but Wellness was getting too expensive. The only problem I have with NB is that I bought an 8 pound bag and it is not resealable. I have ants and it's a pain to transfer 8 pounds of food into so many zip lock bags."

"My purebred Persian cat was adopted from the Humane Society 2 years ago. His hair was dry, flaky, he had shaved sections on his body from removing large mats. He was not pretty. I tried several different brands of dry cat food and he still had horrible matting, flaky skin. I went to Petco and one of the young clerks told me the best food she had found for her chinchila was Natural Balance as it had the highest percentage of animal protein of any pet food (most pet foods have mostly grains and cats/dogs are carnivors and need animal protein) and that her chinchila's hair looked fabulous. Per that stellar recommendation, I bought a large bag of dry Natural Balance Original Formula cat food for my Persian. Well, within a month he stopped having flaky skin. He's now been steady on only Natural Balance for nearly a year and has silky, SHINY, soft hair. I comb him morning and night and he very rarely has any hair that matts. My other cat is a short hair and her fur is sleek, shiny and silky. This truly is the BEST cat food I've ever bought. I won't buy anything else."

"I love this food. Every ingredient added is good for your cat! (The dog formula is wonderful too!) Read the ingredients, and there is nothing but food products, and vitamins and minerals! Good stuff! My cat loves it. I have never fed her anything but. And, I believe that eating it has made her picky- being spoiled with all of the good stuff. It's actually a good thing- she's not a "scrap beggar". They leave out ingredients that a lot of cats are allergic too, and they even make other formulas for SPECIFIC allergies! I ALWAYS ALWAYS recommend this food brand! Wonderful!!"

"When I lived in New England, I started a kitten on Natural Balance. I used it faithfully with wonderful results until I moved to South Carolina. New to the area I had a problem finding the NB and used another "natural formula" with disasterous results. My second cat who was only 4 developed a urinrary problem that required an expensive vet bill and very costly food (for the rest of his life they said). Vet said to switch all 4 cats to the diet the one cat needed, it wouldn't hurt them. Seeing their coats lose the shine and their energy not their usual, I found the store for Natural Balance and altho it's a trek, it's worth it. All 4 cats went back on the NB Ultra (even the one the *required* the special diet) and it's been over a year now and all the kids are doing great!! There have been no more problems and all cats got a clean bill of health at their last visit. Thank you Natural Balance!"

"I have used natural balance for a while now and when i changed my cats to it about 3 1/2 years ago. I was amazed at the change in their coats and skin more shiny and a less dry. My older cat has more energy to keep up with my younger cats. I rescued a kitten not too long ago and the change in her after she got used to the food was wonderful her coat is so soft and shiny she gained weight nicely and all their eyes are clear and bright. They don't shed like they used to on the other food I had them on and they are not going through 15 lbs of food in a month like they used to."

"I read a lot of the other reviews about their cats not liking the taste. Its mainly because they were eating a "junk food" as i like to call it before they were eating healthy food. So of course their not going to like it.
Well my cat has been on it for about 2 years now and she loves it, meows if the bowl is empty and you cant give it to her fast enough. She has a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l, glossy black coat, and even going into her older adult stage she still acts like a little rocket, jetting around the house. This is an amasing Product!!!!"

Dry food that beats wet food

"My cat is the pickiest eater in the world and hates practically everything I've ever tried to feed her, so when I find something she'll eat, I consider myself lucky. She's especially picky about dry food and would rather eat wet food any day. So, on a rec from a friend, I purchased this Natural Balance dry food to try.
Right after I got some of this, I gave her some wet food like normal and then went about mixing a little of this new dry food to her regular dry food. She actually ditched her wet food to eat the dry food! It was totally astonishing, and she absolutely loves it. It is now her regular dry food.
If you've got a finicky eater like my cat, you should definitely give this a shot. I personally feel it's worth the price."

"I have had my kitten since she was 6 months (she will be 3 in June). For the first 2 months everything I gave her was being eaten very fast, gave her gas, and made her coat very dull. With other brands (they will remain nameless) I was feeding her 2-3 times a day because she was not getting full. Not to mention a kitten under a year should have lots of energy and she did not have very much. I tried Natural Balance and she loved it. I noticed right away the difference it made. I really liked the fact that I could use the same food from kitten to adult stages. As a treat I mix in a small can of wet food with her dry and still no gas, no upset tummy. Her coat is shiney, she is one happy kitty. A 6 pound bag will last me well over a month. She gets about 2/3 a cup a day sometimes with leftovers the next day."

"After trying countless brands of premium cat food over the course of two years and being repeatedly disappointed by the lack of telltale signs of a good diet (shiny coat, healthy skin, increased energy, etc.), I think I've finally found the food that I'm going to stick to. I've tried Royal Canin, Eukanuba, Wellness, Solid Gold, Nutro, and probably a few more. Natural Balance has already (in the three weeks since I've began working NB into their diet) shown to be the best I've tried, HANDS DOWN.
I have a short haired black female that has always had a soft and glossy coat, but her skin has always been dry and a little flaky. I've tried giving her fish oil, supplements, supplemented treats... Now after 3 weeks, her skin looks healthy without flakes and her coat is shinier and softer than ever.
My longhaired male's coat is also looking and feeling greatly improved and he seems to have a lot more energy and is being extra playful with my 5 month old kitten lately. Kitten has experienced all the same benefits because this formula is great for cats of ALL life stages.
They love the taste and I love pampering them. If you compare the ingredients and the cost per unit weight, I think you'll find that Natural Balance is the best deal you'll find for your buck and your companion.

"I have 4 cats. My 12 year old had colitis symptoms--what a mess! Went to vet and after spending a fortune, found out nothing is wrong except colitis. Waited awhile for expensive prescription food to work and it never did. Other cats started getting symptoms. Before heading back to vet I tried NB green pea and duck dried and canned cat food. WOW It's been 2 weeks of no scratching and a normal litterbox. THANK YOU Problem solved."

"I've done a lot of research on grain-free and healthy dry cat food, and have tried a few premium brands on the market (EVO, Wellness, and this brand). My cats LOVE this brand...so much that one of them has become chubby because he can't stop eating it! One thing though, is that the kibbles break and become powder-ish quite easily. Otherwise, no complaints!"

"I really like the ingredients in this food. It's much more affordable than other premium dry foods and because PetCo carries it, it's easy to find when I run out. A cup of this food is higher in calories than most other dry foods so you have to watch the amount you feed. (This also means that a bag lasts even longer). My cats love it, but that's not saying much because they aren't too discriminating. I feed this in addition to the Natural Balance canned food."

"My cat likes the chicken formula of Natural Balance just fine. I like the ingredients and the price. I wish the kibble size was a bit smaller - about 3/4 the size it is now. It would be easier for my cat to chew. I tried and compared a few brands. Natural Balance delivers a top quality product for a fair price compared to other premium brands. NB is nutritionally superior to some other premium brands and costs a little less."

"My roommate has a 5yr. old cat and we just added a new addition, a 3mo. bob-tail kitten. We were at a loss on finding the most healthy food at a great price. It was hard to buy two types of food let alone keeping them out of eachothers dish. An employee at the Kenosha, WI location recommended this brand about a month ago. Natural Balance offers the essentials needed for a kittens diet as well as an adult cats diet. As a consumer I recommend this brand to anyone who has multiple felines ranging from age 9wks onward. We observed a drastic change in both felines. Their stool became solid, no diarreha, less-to-none on regurgitation, nails have become stronger, coats are full and shinny, over-all attitude and energy has hightened, muscle tone has taken form, and no further digestive problems compared to previous brand. Everyone wants the best for their animals as they grow older and I feel we found the best food for them. If this website charged to put a comment on here, I'd pay the fee because it's worth the chit-chat!"
