This works pretty darn good for a small tank

"I tend to keep a lot of 5 gal and under tanks for Betta's,baby fish,etc.,and I always keep these Penn Plex filters along with a few corner filters to set up smaller tanks.It's surprising that as long as you keep up maintainance and water changing,just how good these corner filters and disposable cartridges work.I've even rinsed excess muck off of cartridges and extended their use much longer.
