"I bought this for my energetic 6 mo. old kitten. She was interested immediately, but seemed to only want to watch me spin the mouse on the track, with the occasional bat from her. For the next couple days she still seemed only moderately interested, but then all the sudden she decided it is a great toy! Now she'll spend all evening pouncing on the mouse and spinning it around (it spins very easily). She has even tried putting other toys on the track. The toy is rather light, so occasionally it moves across the carpet as she plays. It's not a problem to play with the mouse, but it does make the scratching pad rather impractical. "

"My brother in law saw this in action at a pet shelter where he volunteers (and where toys get quite a workout). He bought one for his own cat. I watched the fun and as soon as I got home I bought one. My two cats LOVE it - they reach in to swat, hurl themselves around it - and what I really like is that these two get very territorial about most toys but this is big enough that they can use it at the same time."

"4-1/2 yr old cat not interested in catnip; only self-play is paper shredding. The 2 of us have caught or cornered 4 mice this year, and toy LOOKS real. Fascinated by it. Just when I think he's tired of it, wanders over, and WHAM! Cat runs gamut of hunting techniques."

"Cat 'N' Mouse is the best cat toy on the market. We bought this for our newly adopted cat last Christmas and thought she would be tired of it in a couple of weeks. To our amazement she has not only never tired of it but goes right to it every morning wanting for us to play with her before she even eats or goes out. While she likes to play by herself she really loves spinning the mouse around while she lays or her side and waits for us to spin it back to her. We do need a new one because the mouse has lost its ears and tail and most of it's fur. The only issue is that our cat has not figured out that the top is a scratch pad and continues to use the carpet for that purpose. I would highly recommend this to other cat owners."

"My cat is a real mouser and goes crazy over furry mice so I thought this would be a great product for him. When I first bought it, he loved it, but after a few weeks he only occasionally swats at it. I think he is frustrated because he can never actually get the mouse since it is attached to the product. Your cat may differ, but I'll stick to mice he can chase after that are not attached to a wheel."

A hint to prospective buyers - the speed/ease at which the mouse rotates is the 'key' to the hours of play the cats will give it.
I bought one at my local petstore & the mouse whirled around with ease, fast and had them all fascinated for hours, literally.
I went back to buy 2 more & found that one would only spin around in ONE circle and stop[like it had an invisible 'brake']........the other spun around a multitude of times w/ ease. I returned the one that only stopped after it was spun & the new one is great -they play with all of them for hours.! Just wish it was bigger around........sort of small for 5 cats to play with.......... maybe they'll make a bigger one, someday."

"Well like I am hearing from others when you first purchase this my cat enjoyed watching me flipping the mouse in circles. She initiated a small amount.
In fear of loosing out on my money I resorted to solving the problem on my own after seeing how the mouse is latched on a spoke gave me a great idea.
I cut off the top off the very durable plastic and exposed the mouse and it actually salvaged my money and my cat is enjoying batting the mouse around. Of course I had to smooth out the cut plastic edges to protect my cat. She really likes it now as she can now lay and swat the mouse back and forth and with the way the mouse is attached it flows quite easy.
I do believe for an older cat it is hard for them to be able to get there paw in to even move the mouse with the short span between the openings.
In short if you do not wish to alter the toy like I had to do not buy!"

"This toy is ok. My cat likes it. It doesn't keep his interest like some others though. It either goes too fast, or it stops too soon. But I guess he likes it sometimes, cuz the condition of the mouse now is grotesque. He destroyed it! It has no ears anymore! LOL"

"My cats love this toy but not the way it is supposed to be used. They won't go near it when the power is on because it goes too fast. Also when they stand on the top as they are supposed to to scratch and play it stops the mouse from spinning because their weight squishes it down. They do enjoy batting at the mouse when it is off from the outside but you can get a toy that does that for much less money."

"I have heard excellent reviews on this toy and bought it the other day; it took my 9 week old Zoe 3 days to figure it out, but now she loves it! It keeps her busy and me out of harm's (claws, teeth, etc) way! She tries to yank it out of the plastic, and she loves pouncing it and looking for it. She does get bored of it after about 5 minutes, but she always goes back to it; I'm sure as she matures, she'll love it more and more. I would certainly recommend this toy, though I am sure it doesn't work for every cat, as cats are so individual, each like different play toys. But all in all, excellent!"
