"i use this carrier for my cats. the single door is just too hard to get them into the carrier, though i do feel like the single door carrier is more substantial. just make sure you lock the top door very tightly before you carry it by the top handle. i have had no problems. this is the only brand i have found that makes the double door design."

"If you have ever tried to pull a reluctant rabbit out of a front door only carrier, you know how hard it can be. They use all four feet to hold themselves in. With the top door, it is relatively easy to scoop them out before they know what's happening."

"Oh how I envy any owner whose pet just strolls into a carrier without a fuss or even manages to fall asleep in there. I can safely say that this will NEVER happen with our cat lol. She equates carriers with vet visits and road trips, and she wants no part in either.
Having the ability to load the cat through the top door has been a godsend! If you've ever tried to push a reluctant cat through the front door of a carrier, then you know what I'm talking about lol.
We bought the intermediate size, because she gets so distressed, we didn't want to traumatize her any further by getting the small size. (It's a peacock blue color).
We added a small blanket on the floor for some extra comfort. It's barely tolerable for her, but it has worked out quite nicely. Highly recommended!"

"I love how the carrier had several options to open and close it. You can open it from the front, the top, or you can just pop open the whole top half.
It's sturdy, however, just be weary of making sure to clamp everything down. Sometimes you make think its locked down, but it's actually just half way...
Other than that, I highly recommend it."

"This is a good product. A small is perfect for a cat. Easy to get pet in/out of carrier & easy to clean. The carrier plastic is not as strongly made as some of the other brands. I would recommend this product."

"Traveling is easier with this crate. The top door is great. My cat can be remove easier at the vets. The only downside is that the top door hidges have points that can scatch. Not major. Its as if you were to fun a dull pencil across your hand. I just think there should be rubber or plastic on the ends to make it better."

Functionally Great But Beware of the Color!

"Chose this carrier, because my inlaws had it for their dog. Functionally, it's great. We primarily use the front door; however, the top door occassionally comes in very handy. We were disappointed with the color, though, when our carrier was delivered. The website pictured a cream carrier, which would've been fine. The carrier which was delivered was a bright aqua color. We'd seen that color in the store, and didn't like it. We opted to buy online and pay the shipping costs, in hopes of getting a color which was more to our liking. If this is the only color available, Petco really should update their website."

"This pet carrier is the best version that we have found. It's easy to get your pet in and out. Dogs, cats or Birds aren't as afraid when they have more area to see out. We use it to take our birds to the Vet or our dog. I would recommend it to anyone with pets. Especially for birds that don't like being taken out the front door they seem not to mind coming out the top door."

"I rescue animals in Rocky Point Mexico and take in many new born kittens and pups without mothers that I need to bottle feed. This carrier with the two doors - one on top is perfect to see and retrieve them for feedings."

"I used the crate for the first time and noticed a scratch on my puppy's nose. The second time she had a huge gash out of her nose from the lock brackets on the top of the roof door. The Manufacturer should highly consider redesigning the lock brackets and change them to plastic verse metal to prevent animals from harming themselves. We use them to contain our love ones when where out and can't watch them ourselves. I would have never considered this crate had I known it was going to harm her."

"These carriers are terrific! I bought three of them, and am very glad that I did. Much easier to get the cats in and out with the door on top, but they have the option of walking in or out the lower door if they want. One cat liked it so much that he curled up in it and took a nap!"

Nice and Roomy For Large Cat

"It was time to buy a larger carrier for my 16lb. cat since the one I currently have has suddenly become too hard to get her into. She seems to know when it's time to go to the vet and it is very difficult to get such a big, (and stubborn), cat into a medium-sized carrier. She loves the new Double Door Deluxe so much that she sleeps in it. I'm hoping that it will be much easier to get her inside when I need to by using the top door. The only thing this one is missing that the medium-sized carrier had is a secure slot for a seatbelt. The handle on the top door can be used but I don't think it will hold as tight. (I haven't tried yet)."

"I have had my Petmate carriers for over 10 years and they still look like new. Its not because I don't use them either. I leave a couple out at all times with pads in them for the cats to sleep in. They love the security.They are easy to clean, very sturdy and come in a variety of sizes. I like that they have multiple ways to open them. The turn locks that attach the top to the bottom are easy to operate and provide peace of mind because you know when they are locked or not."
