it is a food dish not a water Date: October 22, 2008
"this dish is sold primarily as a food dish with very few exceptions of cases it can be used a water dish. water dishes should be generally large enough for your reptile to soak in. and fresh veggies are suppossed to be taken out of the tank after 4 hours because at that point they are no longer fresh"

Not so great Date: June 21, 2008
"I got one of these for my leopard gecko. It keeps getting sand in it{i don't know how it gets in there},water evaporates in 2-3 days and i don't even have a lamp for him but i put his cage near the window for the sun to warm him up. Its not even natural looking."

Very nice dish Date: May 20, 2008
"I originally had some plastic bowls/rocky items for my critters but they took up too much space and didn't look right inside of my tank. I bought this instead and it looks much much better. Less clutter and it works great for insects like mealworms. Since the bowl is deep they won't be able to get out anywhere and it provides easy access for your critters foods. I also stick some of my canned crickets in there so my leopard gecko can get everything it needs. If you're looking for something pretty and decent go for this dish."

for food only Date: May 9, 2008
"Because these are very shallow dishes, they are for food only, unless you have some VERY small hatchlings and want a shallow dish they can't drown in.
I bought several of the green ones to match with my jungle cages. They are great for temp holding live insects but they can easilly climb out. The red/brown is cool for desert tanks because it creates a "terracotta" feel.
High quality, chew proof and mostly chip proof. A little smaller than I'd like, but great for smaller lizards like leopard geckos."

Very Good Buy Date: September 27, 2007
"I have a crested gecko, and when I purchased these bowls (1 terracotta colored and 1 grape colored, to match her cage) I just KNEW they were absolutely PERFECT! First, they're very attractive looking and aren't too big or too small--the perfect size for a small lizard or reptile. Second, they're pretty heavy for a bowl so your little friend won't be able to knock them over. And third, they're ceramic, and don't get stained very easily. Works great with Crested Gecko Diet, babyfood, fruit puree, and water. AWESOME PURCHASE!"

Great food dish, but a water dish is another story Date: September 5, 2006
"These dishes are great for holding food, and they do look very nice. I own a leopard gecko who eats mealworms and crickets, and obviously only the mealworms were used in the dish. After a while I just put the mealworms on the sand because my leopard gecko was to short to see or reach into the bowl! I put water into the bowl instead. Unfortunately, the water treatment I used and the amount of calcium substrate in the tank that my gecko kicks into the dish made a nasty layer on the edge and inside of the bowl! it's impossible to clean and leaves a white stain(it practically takes the paint off of the bowl). It is a very nice dish to use if you don't have a reptile that will kick calcium substrate into the bowl! They have many perfect sizes and colors to match your terrarium."

Great for your reptile's food and water! Date: April 27, 2006
"I love this ceramic dish. It is heavy enough so that my geckos don't tip it over when crawling on it, and has a nice gloss on it. It is not too deep so that your reptile can get in it to eat it's food or even bathe in it for moisture. Mealworms cannot escape the dish because it is slippery, so it makes it convenient for your reptiles to eat or soak in! I have this dish in all my reptile terrariums and I would advise everyone with small reptiles to have one-- great price, and more than worth it's value."

pretty and useful! Date: April 20, 2006
"I BOUGHT THESE DISHES FOR MY RED EAR SLIDER AND THEY WORKED GREAT! THEY ALSO DONT MOVE IN WATER WHICH IS EVEN BETTER. AS ANOTHER REVIEWER SAID, CERTAIN THINGS DO STICK TO THE BOWL, BUT IT ISN'T THAT HARD TO CLEAN. I ALSO REALLY LIKED THEIR COLORS, AND I USE THEM TO COLOR CODE MY TURTLE'S MEALS!"

"It a sturdy dish and easy to clean-up. I use two of them for my Leopard Gecko and never had a problem with clean-up. Just soak it for 5 mins. and it wipes clean with a paper towel. I have one of each color and rotate them out."

So much clean up! Date: December 6, 2005
"When buying a food container for your reptile, keep in mind what you'll be feeding him or her! I had two of these for my bearded dragon, one for dried store-bought kibble, and another for fruits and veggies. The kibble dish did fine, but the leftover veggies tend to stick to the bowl."
