"I bought this for my 3 month old kitten(Pirate) and he loved it while the motor was off. When the motor is turned on he looses interest after a few minutes. And when Pirate sat on the top the mouse would stop at the time he was only 2 lbs. Also Pirate ripped off the mouse cover within 2 weeks and now has lost interest in the toy"

"I'm not sure if I would recommend this to another person. It seems to depend on the cat's personality as to whether or not they'd like it. My two cats were interested at first, but, as another reviewer mentioned, they got bored with the mouse going around at the same speed and the same direction over and over. Also, it seems that having another speed level would be much better as the mouse goes so fast, it's almost like a blur. It would be nice to be able to slow it down if desired. I'm glad it didn't cost much or I would return it, but since it was on sale, I'll keep it and bring it out every now and then."

"My 2 kitties (almost 3 years old) loved this toy at first. It sat on the floor for them for 2 days before I could buy batteries for it. They really loved it when the mouse moved by itself! Same speed, same direction over and over again made they lose intrest. Wouldn't buy another. But worth the price even though the cats only enjoyed it for a few weeks."

"My 8 year old cat, Joey, just loves this toy. He just sits and watches the mouse go around for a while and then all of a sudden...pounces on the toy ...trying to get the mouse. I had purchased a similar smaller version of this toy years ago...but he wore it out."

"I bought this toy for my kitty because she's only shown interest in motorized toys, and I wanted her to play with something other than the Undercover Mouse toy (which, by the way, is fabulous!). At first, the moving mouse caught my kitty's attention, but I think the same speed and direction of the mouse movement bored her after only a few minutes. The toy would be so much better if the speed and direction varied, to make it less predictable and more interesting - that's why I recommend Undercover Mouse over this toy. I think the funniest reaction my kitty showed towards this toy was to sit on top of the sisal scratching area - the mouse's same boring movement was probably annoying her, so she found a way to stop it from moving altogether."

Keeps My Cats Fascinated for Hours

"My cats love interactive toys, and this one keeps them fascinated for hours. All three cats gather round to see who can catch the mouse. The mouse does rotate pretty fast, but my cats love the challenge. When a full grown cat sits on top, the mouse slows down or stops, but it starts right back up again once the cat jumps down to investigate why it stopped. We've owned this toy for about a year and the cats beg for me to turn it on nearly every evening."

"Both of my cats love this toy, even my older cat that usually doesn't show much interest in toys. The only thing I wish was different would be the speed. I wish you could either have differen't speeds or that it was just a little slower in general. Otherwise Its great!"

"My cats are very interested but when the device is on the mouse goes way way tooo fast. . . .I don't know if something is wrong with the one I bought but my cats just watch when it is on. The do play with it when it is off but the mechanism isn't super smooth so its not the frenzy it could be. Also with the adult cats they can't sit on the toy or it smushes down on the mouse and keeps it from moving, the top should be much sturdier to work for adult cats."

"I purchased this toy and my kitty Loved it! But it broke the 3rd day. I am very disappointed. My kitty won't play with it on his own...he liked that it spun on its own and he had to stop it."

Cats LOVE it!

"I actually bought this product for my 2 kittens and they played with it until they both got "too old" for it! That was 18 years ago. I pulled the toy out of storage for my 3 new kittens. They loved it so much that they would run up behind me, Meow, and then run back to the toy - this being their "Turn it on for us Mom!" Meow. They have played with it so much that the motor finally burned out. For about a week after that, they would sit and stare at it, put their little paws in and try to get the mouse to spin. Then they'd look up at me and say "Meow?" My best friend tried to fix it for them. She thought maybe the motor just had some dust on it so she opened up the bottom and cleaned it up then put it back together. They all 3 had gathered around her just waiting to play with their toy. But, "Meow!" it didn't work. Now that I know I can buy another I am headed out for the pet store right now. I can't wait to see their happy little faces and hear the happy "Meows" when they see they have another one! This one will be even better since it's new. I do have a suggestion for the toymaker however. I don't know if they've improved on it since I bought my first one, but the top of it needs to be sturdier. The one I bought over 18 years ago was great for small kittens. But, when they start to get bigger and heavier, the plastic cover on the top just wasn't made for a heavier kitty to sit on. My first 2 kittens ended up squishing in the top of it every time they sat on top and then of course, the toy doesn't spin. Luckily my ex is a bit of a handyman and he found some hard plastic, molded it in the same shape with the same "holes" for their paws to reach the toy. We placed that on top of it and it gave more support. Otherwise this is a FANTASTIC toy and provides hours of entertainment! Thanks for a great toy!"

Kitten loves it, but it broke easily

"My 5-month old Persian kitten LOVED this when I first brought it home...so much so that she actually pulled the wire out of the battery power source! Now that the mouse doesn't move around on it's own and she has to push it herself, she isn't quite as interested. I dont know how well-built this was if a 4 mo. old kitten could break it, but she loved it when it worked!"

"Family favorite. They wait for me to replace the battery.
*Suggestions...could use motion activation to lengthen battery life, or could use plug-in transformer as power source. *Could use stronger top. Cats sit on this toy making the top sag down and stop the mouse. *Top could lift up to remove dibris from hub area. Hair gets caught and effects opperation."

"This toy keeps all four of my cats entertained all day long when I am at work. One of the cats plays with the mouse as another cat steps on top of the device and stops the mouse from spinning. Just expect to go through batteries daily."

"My cats love this toy. I have had one for about a year and a half and am going to have to buy another as they have finally tore up the mouse. It doesn't always want to start turning on its own, but if I get it started, the cats will keep it moving."

Motor Mouse is Incredible...

"I bought this for my cat George and he absolutely loves it. He plays with it daily and for hours on end. I am going to buy a few more to keep on hand for when my original one wears out. A friend's dog came to visit and played with this toy for an hour or more also. GREAT toy for cats and small dogs !!!"
