"I recently bought this product, after trying a static training collar with small remote. While it worked well to begin the teaching of boundaries to my Siberian Husky, it still didn't allow me to let her out unless I was right there. Now I have this. With the training she had with her collar, and training her on the boundaries, she turned around when she heard the collar beep, and won't go out of the yard at all unless I'm with her. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat."

The BEST invisible fence available....

"The range is a 90' radius circle adjustable down to almost nothing. If you have a very big yard and want to give your dogs more room, that is the ONLY reason to not get this. Setup can't be easier. Plug it in, done. Adjust the range if necessary. Two very nice features with regard to the collars. First, the level of correction is adjustable, so your dog won't get too strong of a correction if it isn't needed.
Second, and this might be the most important, unlike the buried wire invisible fence whereby the collar only corrects when the dog is near the buried wire, this system adds a correction when your dog gets OUT OF RANGE of the transmitter. So your dog will continue to get the correction until it gets back into range. With the buried models the dog could run through the fence, get a quick correction but keep going and not ever get another correction until it gets close again. Your dog will absolutely NOT run off if the correction is persistent like with this product.
One minor complaint is the proprietary batteries that you have to get from the pet store, and the battery life. I seem to be getting about 3 months out of a battery, and you have to order them or get them from the pet store. It would have been nicer if they used regular coin cell batteries that you can get anywhere. Don't let that dissuade you though, this is an awesome product. Plus, you can take it with you. We take it and put it in our camper and adjust the range down to about 15-20 feet, then bring it home, plug it back in and adjust it back to 90 feet. You can't go wrong with this product."

Great for a small dog that likes the chase

"We have a 10 lb dog and live in "the woods". It has stopped him from chasing the deer or standing in the road. I still go out with him because of his size and coyotes, but I don't have to say his name 10 times to come in.
Also, we live in a snowey area and we stored the collar in the garage. Big mistake. The cold zapped the battery and it needed to be replaced after only two months. Our fault.
I have even recommended this to our vet incase anyone else needs help keeping their dog in the yard."

"I bought this system after I was at a friends house that had one and reading great reviews on several websites. It is easy to set up (but realize-and it says this in the directions-that the boundaries will flunctuate a little). The only downfall for us is that we have one corner of our yard that slopes (not huge but there is a downward slope) and in all the reviews I read this was noted as a problem but I didn't think we had enough of a slope for it to be an issue-I was wrong. So we have one corner of our yard that it doesnt work but I am hoping if we heavily flag this area she will learn not to go that way (every other area is fine)"

"This product is amazing!
I read the reviews and was not interested in a product that required underground wires- so I chose this product from PetSafe and I am sooo happy! I have a 9 month old golden retriever who learned very quickly if she wasn't on the leash or tie out she could run alllll over our property...about 4 acres. My worry was her running to the road, etc. After being "zapped" just once with this collar, she ran back to the house..it took some coaxing on the first day to get her to leave the door way, but she will now, and runs all around the house within her limits and if she finds her boundary and the collar beeps- she heads back to the house within seconds.
I am so relieved I can let my pup out off a leash to run, and work with me in the yard. This was such a good investment . It has literally changed her behaviour about running ...literally in seconds!
The manual says to set the collar to 6 for high energy dogs- I have it set to beep only because my high energy pup was zapped only once with the collar set to 5 and it was enough to get the reaction I wanted from her."

"The system is working out very well. We have it on the main level equal to the front yard. Our backyard is a level up. A walkout from the bedroom level and then a steep hill going up tp the property line. The radius from the transmitter worked as well on the backyard hill as in front. Training is going faster than hoped for too."

"I think that for the 250.00 dollars you can spend on this it is a good investment. This system is not the 2000.00 that a good installed underground system is, but it works well. My dog is mild mannered and mostly stayed in the yard before the system, but I wanted something that I could let him out and still stay in the house. He was well trained on the system within a week. I found that the wireless boundary changes at times (don't know if something interfered, but I went through setup twice to make sure). It would seem to vary by up to 10 feet in one direction or the other. I even moved the system and called the customer service going, but nothing seems to keep the boundary consistent. But for the 250.00 spent, you have to anticipate it won't be perfect. I like the idea of portability with this system also. All in all, sound investment for the cost."

"I have a 90# golden retriver, heavy coat and is used to running thru brush and heavy cover, the correction is not strong enough for a dog like this. Even with the longer prongs the correction didnt phase him, he looked at it like he was getting a mosquito bite and went on with his buisness.also the beep could be louder set up is difficult if there is any ambient noise while you are trying to establish the boundries, this probably works well for thinner coat dogs."

"Our hunting dog was chasing squirrels and knew how to get out of the underground fence with the stubborn dog collar set on high. He picked a spot and jumped as high as he could, yelped once and off he went into the woods. After receiving this wireless fence, my son and I set it up in about an hour or less. We managed to get the parameters of the front and back the same as before and did the training with our 1 year old setter. He did great until the squirrels started teasing him. We had stepped out of the fenced area and were watching him. He went to his normal jumpiing out spot, jumped, yelped and took off. He continued yelping and changing direction. He couldn't figure out what he had done wrong. We were trying to catch him and put him back in the yard. He finally came to us and when he was back in the yard and no longer yelping, he stayed close to the house for a half hour, then ventured out but not too close to the edge. He has been tempted by the squirrels and a stray cat since that first day, and he just goes to the edge but no longer attempts to jump out. I had set the collar on high since he seemed immune to the stubborn dog collar. He respects his boundaries now and I can let him out with confidence. We have a sloped yard, high in the front and low in the back, and the fence covers it all. I place the unit upstairs and it works great. We will enjoy being able to take it with us when we travel to visit family and our lake vacation spot."

"I was a little concerned about purchasing this product for our pit/lab mix because our yard is comprised entirely of slopes and banks. But knowing I could return it if it didn't work out I decided to try it. It works awesome! It may have changed the range a little in differant areas but it still worked. There is no area that is not covered in the perimater. And our dog learned to stay within the bounds within 2 days. I walked him around and showed him the boundaries several times with just the beep. Then I turned the collar up to 1 and then 2. That didn't faze him as he ran out the driveway. So I turned it up to 3. That was all he needed. He no longer tests the boundaries. In fact, I had a problem with his collar for 2 days and it wasn't working. He still wouldn't go near the boundaries. Even when the children went out of them. He made no attempt to follow. I love this product!!! Easy to use and effective! My dog is safe and my neighbors are no longer being bothered by our fun loving buddy! Even if your yard is sloped or hilly you should still try this product out."

"We purchased the containment system because our dog was spending more time at the neighbors than at home. It is tricky at first, and it takes about a week for the dog to really get it. We accidentally put in on low range one day so our dog was contained to the area 3-4 feet from the house. When we got him trained, and us too, it is working great. It seems a little harsh when he gets shocked, but we had to turn it up or he would just ignore it. The collar is a little snug right now, but I will loosen it after he gets fully trained not to leave the yard. I would recommend this product, but know you must do the training as outlined in the manual."
