best thing ever Date: March 24, 2008
"my california king desert snake loves this stuff. first off this is like the only sand product out there that is desinged to be fully digestable and bennifal to the animal when its eaten, (t-rex calci sand) not there regualr sand) since it has the calcuim in it there is no need to add vitumen supplements. also this sand helps promote the natural digging and burroing of animals. now my snake is a desert snake. its great, it holds the heat on top of the sand, but when my snake wants to cool off he can jsut dig undearneath it and cool off were its nice and cool if he wants. also this sand is wounderfull for spot cleaning, it clumbs well and holds together too, there is no dust with this sand, a big pluse for repitals or small pets since there prone to respitory infections. i have my snake in a 20gl long tank and put in 15lbs of this sand hes alittle over 2 feet and i will not have to add any more sand to his tank for 3-4 months, will be diffrent for each pet . this sand makes tank cleaning a breeze. along with keeping ur pet in its natural habbitate. id recomend this to any one who wants to give there pet the very very best, watch out for other sands they say its degestiable but not in recommend to be eaten, can cause potential problems. were this stuff ur pet can moaw down on it if it lieks and its only going to bennefit him. best thing ever for sand liveing animals. i gove this a 10 out of 10"

Punk Mamster Date: March 6, 2008
"I have a mamster (miniature hamster == dwarf hamster) who loves rolling in the sand, but always likes to clean first. They may seem dry, but cleaning makes the sand stick, and technicolor hamsters are awesome and cute!"

A Perfect Substrate Date: July 6, 2007
"I love this stuff! Not only is it a substrate, but it is also a supplement for your pet. My bearded dragon uses Calci-Sand, and it is perfect. When he accidentally eats some, He never gets gastrointestinal impaction and has an extra supplement. Also, it conducts heat very well and has my beardie's feces stand out well. The visual rating is really good because it is very colorful while still being edible. Lastly, it sticks to anything wet for easy cleaning and now bacterial build up. Calci-Sand is a perfect substrate."

Easiest substrate for geckos Date: April 23, 2006
"I found that with this substrate, it was much easier for me to clean up wastes from my gecko. I think that it's the best substrate that could be used for desert dwelling herps and it provides even distribution of heat throughout the terrarium. Highly recommend!!"

Not for snakes Date: February 15, 2006
"This substrate is fine for lizards and the like but, it is not for any breed of snake. The sand is exteremly difficult to "dry out" once it has become wet. This can lead to scale rot and breed bacteria due to the increased humidity levels in a controled environment. It can also create a mess when it is saturated. "

A nice sand to use Date: December 11, 2005
"I really like this sand. It's attractive and my geckos have been on it for three years without a problem. Impactions can occur with sand but with proper calcium supplementaion lizards do NOT normally eat sand. I would still use newspaper for baby lizards though, as they are especially susceptible to impaction."

T-Rex Bone Aid Calci-Sand Date: November 26, 2005
"The Bone Aid Calci Sand is one of the best substrates that Petco sells for desert reptiles. I have been using this for years with my bearded dragon. The sand is very easy to sift, somewhat digestable and the sand has no odor to it."
