a challenge for man and beast
Date: February 13, 2008
"impossible to keep on the dog. This dog has worn boots before and loved them. She hates these. Velcro up, velcro down, they come off and she resists having them put on, which was never a problem with prior boots. They look durable enough, but we've been unable to test that quality!"

My dog did not like these at all
Date: February 12, 2008
"These booties did stay on, but my dog would not walk normally in them at all. She was trying to walk with her two back legs in the air. If your dog actually keeps these on and is able to walk in them, they might work. I returned mine."

Decent purchase
Date: January 27, 2008
"I needed some shoes to prevent my dog from digging the recliner through at night so I tried these. They work wonders, though the velcro sometimes doesn't work too well unless you have it tightly wound, otherwise my dog can peel it off with his mouth. But it stops him from ripping up the recliner with his paws at night so that's all that really matters."

You should reconsider
Date: January 26, 2008
"I have two shelties, one needed the "xs" and the other "s." They fit good, not to tight or loose. So I let the dogs out to play. I checked on them about 10 minutes later and the one dog only had the back paw still on and the other dog was missing the two front paws. So I went outside and found all but one. I looked for a half hour I even got a rake out of the garage, but still no luck. The Velcro straps didn't hold. All the "Paw Tector" straps of the ones that fell off had completely fallen off. Now I can't return them, what a waste of money!"

The best for winter
Date: January 26, 2008
"If your dog or puppy is outside a lot then you need these boots. They are good in the winter because the dog won't get ice or snow in its paws or between its toes."

"i really like this product because my dog loves to go outside especially in the snow so now when he goes outside he doesn't freeze his paws. And they don't start to bleed."

Mistake
Date: January 19, 2008
"My husband warned me that these would not work and as much as I hate to admit it he was right. They do not stay on the dog's paws no matter what I try. One reviewer wrote that the velcro needs to go in the front. In my experience it doesn't matter. The dog was uncomfortable and made the most sad face at me after I did get them on. He had them off in less time than it took to walk from the kitchen to the dining room - about 5 feet."

Consider Comfort prior to purchase
Date: January 3, 2008
"I live in North Country New York and despite the hardiness of my Chesapeake Bay Retriever he needs the protection of a pair of paw protectors. Unfortunately these protectors do not conform to a large breed dog's paws. They are made of flexible waterproof material that is molded into a two dimensional shape that cannot conform to the three dimensional shape of a large breed dog's paws. I do not use these protectors on my dog and ended up spending more money to purchase a different protector with more consideration of my dog's comfort and health."

waste of money
Date: January 2, 2008
"I have never written a review like this, but I feel it's my only way to show my discontent as I can't return my dog's "Pawtectors" which I recently received for Christmas. I asked for something to protect my Springer Spaniel's feet from the winter (he generally lifts a paw or two and doesn't want to move after being in the freezing cold for longer than 5-10 minutes). Not only does it take a few minutes to get these dog boots on, but they probably won't stay on the dog before you get 'em out the door. All 4 fell off (yes, they fit fine and snug and I put them on tightly twice - and no, he did not attempt to take them off himself). I think the quality of the booties seems high when looking at the material, but the way you velcro them is no good. Again, try them for yourself if you'd like, but my opinion would be to try another brand."

Not Made for Small Paws
Date: December 5, 2007
"I am sure that people with bigger dogs get the advantage with these protectors. I have a small pomeranian, and it was uncomfortable for him to walk in because they are so stiff and does not weigh more than 10 pounds so it would take long for him to break them in. It would have been better if the material was more flexible."

Slip Sliding Away
Date: July 2, 2007
"Getting up in years, I began sliding on our wood floors, especially my rear paws. My mom tried those infant hospital style "gripper" socks which slid off my paws, but my human brother bought PAWTECTORS and PROBLEM SOLVED - no more sliding. These are the most comfortable "boots" and my paws stay cool while I look cool in them!"

Just what we were looking for!!
Date: June 17, 2007
"We purchased these booties and were a little skeptical at first. Not sure if our Lab would keep them on. He did wonderful with them. My suggestion if you have a dog that is a chewer get some of the bitter apple spray and apply this first. He let them be after the first lick. We got these booties for him because of the new hardwood floors that were installed in the house. Our lab is an inside dog and when he goes to lay down he slides his front paws. After I saw scratches on our new floor I had to figure our some way to prevent this. These booties did the trick!!! I have had no trouble keeping them on you just have to make sure they are secure and tight fitting!! Highly recommend for this purpose!! These booties are also much cheaper than some others we had seen and they work!!

good protectors
Date: May 21, 2007
"These Pawtectors go on easily, and I like the fact that they have velcro. I just have to make sure that they are on very well..or they may come off! They help keep our dog from sliding on ice. A bit costly, but a very useful item in the winter months."

in theory...
Date: March 20, 2007
"When I saw these in the store,I was delighted. They are made of a durable but grippy material, lined with softness and a fully adjustable velcro strap.
In theory, these would stay on the dog wouldn't mind them and life would be good.
In reality, they are shaped like sacks and the fabric is too stiff and thick to allow for them to fit onto my dogs fit and stay on.He seemed like he liked the idea, but no matter which way I tried to put them on, they were coming off within a block or sliding off and making him walk funny.Funnier.
I think they are really expensive considering how hard it is to make them stay on.

"I've tried several booties and these are the best. I didn't think I would like them, but they really do the trick. I haven't tried the velcro in front...I put it in back. I did have to trim the front ones down a bit, so they would fit better and haven't had trouble with them falling off since.
I'm so happy to find a product that keeps my girl's feet clean, safe and dry! And I don't have to chase after her to keep putting them on!

Just Got'em
Date: February 6, 2007
"I just bought these tonight and I put them on my dog's back paws before walking her into my condo. I have a yellow lab and her feet are so irritated by the salt on the sidewalks. It got to the point where she wouldn't walk- she spread-eagled on the snow. I figured these were better than the fleece ones- those just seem like they'll get too wet. Anyway she clomped out of the car, and though she walked hilariously, they did the job. Thanks to those who say "Velcro in front" because that might be the key. I'll try them on all her paws and update this. Oh, she sounded like a horse galloping because they are made of hard material. It really is a comical sight."

Ok, But....
Date: February 6, 2007
"Our 11 yr old Golden Retriever (inoperable Brain Tumor)drags his left side paws to the point of bleeding quicks. We walk 2.4 mi a day on a paved road and he still loves his walks. We bought paw protectors 3 weeks ago. They fell off and we almost lost one. The straps need to be pretty tight and then the're Ok. But... they have big gaping holes on the ends now and we have switched sides only to wear out all 4 boots. We even tried sewing the ends back shut, only to last half of a walk. They just aren't durable enough to last any length of time. $25 a month is quite a bit. They need extra leather or even a thin "hard " PVC cap at the toes end for the wear from paws dragging. Also, if the tops were designed with a softer rubber that could wrap the dogs leg better the straps would sinch better. I'm sure there are many dogs who could benefit in the future if these boots could be improved upon in this way."

Paw Tectors dog booties
Date: January 15, 2007
"I used a pair of Paw Tectors on my German Shorthair Pointer this past weekend in Baja, Mexico, chasing quail up and down mountainsides (over sharp rocks and decomposed granite) and through plenty of rough terrain (including with prickly pear cactus and cholla--the toughest cactus of all, aptly nicknamed jumping cactus). I was skeptical at first--having tried every kind of booty in the past, from plain ol' Cordura nylon to pig skin and steerhide. While a remain a fan of pig skin booties for the Baja, I was surprised to see that the Paw Tectors lasted a full day, with no serious cuts and no apparent punctures. Cordura booties typically last no more than a day and offer no protection against cholla cactus. The leather booties last much longer, but aren't as comfortable as these new Paw Tectors. I returned to the store after the trip to buy several more pair--for my other dogs. This is a good product that does the job. I'm a solid fan. For those customers that couldn't keep them on their dogs, take a tip used on hunting dogs--we use duct tape over the booty, after initially fastening them with the velcro hook/loop fastners(being careful not to duct tape against the dog's hair--just duct tape the booty itself, tight, but not so tight as to cut off circulation). Advise for improving this booty--use fatter velcro strip secured to the booty, The little velcro strip that comes with the booty is pretty wimpy--compared to the otherwise very durable product."

Won't stay on
Date: November 28, 2006
"I like the tough material these are made of, but they won't stay on my pugs' feet. I've tried adjusting them every which way. I'll be returning them."
