"I really liked these boots once I figured out how to make them stay on. The velcro needs to be in front and I trimmed the excess off. Now the stay on great. Easy to clean as well."

"I am extremely happy and satisfied with this product. The Paw Tectors are easy to put on and do not seem to bother my dog in any way. The boots take seconds to place on her paws and saves me much time since I no longer have to wipe the mud off or dry her feet. They protect her paw pads from freezing or sticking to the ice in below freezing temperatures. I would definitely buy these boots again.

The only problem I have encountered is sometimes when she runs around in just a few short circles, the boots will fall off. I'm not certain how or if this could be corrected, but the benefits of the boots far outweigh the times that this has happened."

Hated them!!!! Date: October 12, 2008
"I bought these for my Lhasa Apso to try to keep his paws clean when we go outside. Unfortunatly, these booties are too stiff for them to be comfortable for a little dog. They fit funny, they make him walk funny, they slide down so there is too much material sticking out past his toes. They simply are very poorly designed I would never have bought them if Petco had had any other options and now I wish I'd just bought a wash cloth to clean his paws."

"I think they work well - we've had a couple of times where one paw falls off - the first time she stepped on her own foot and then pulled her paw right out. The second time I actually think my husband stepped on it. As long as they're on tightly they shouldn't fall off unless they're stepped on."

Would not recommend Date: May 24, 2008
"Our dog had these boots off in about 5 minutes after leaving petco. He simply would toss his feet backwards behind him and my husband wound up picking up boots along PCH. We turned right around and returned them. Would not recommend."

very helpful Date: April 21, 2008
"I purchased this for my rat terrior who is a little on the hyper side. We share a house with my elderly aunt and these have been a great help in preventing cuts and scrapes. I highly recommend making this purchase.
*as a side note: depending on the size of your puppy you will need to cut excess material*"

a challenge for man and beast Date: February 13, 2008
"impossible to keep on the dog. This dog has worn boots before and loved them. She hates these. Velcro up, velcro down, they come off and she resists having them put on, which was never a problem with prior boots. They look durable enough, but we've been unable to test that quality!"

My dog did not like these at all Date: February 12, 2008
"These booties did stay on, but my dog would not walk normally in them at all. She was trying to walk with her two back legs in the air. If your dog actually keeps these on and is able to walk in them, they might work. I returned mine."

Decent purchase Date: January 27, 2008
"I needed some shoes to prevent my dog from digging the recliner through at night so I tried these. They work wonders, though the velcro sometimes doesn't work too well unless you have it tightly wound, otherwise my dog can peel it off with his mouth. But it stops him from ripping up the recliner with his paws at night so that's all that really matters."

You should reconsider Date: January 26, 2008
"I have two shelties, one needed the "xs" and the other "s." They fit good, not to tight or loose. So I let the dogs out to play. I checked on them about 10 minutes later and the one dog only had the back paw still on and the other dog was missing the two front paws. So I went outside and found all but one. I looked for a half hour I even got a rake out of the garage, but still no luck. The Velcro straps didn't hold. All the "Paw Tector" straps of the ones that fell off had completely fallen off. Now I can't return them, what a waste of money!"

The best for winter Date: January 26, 2008
"If your dog or puppy is outside a lot then you need these boots. They are good in the winter because the dog won't get ice or snow in its paws or between its toes."

Mistake Date: January 19, 2008
"My husband warned me that these would not work and as much as I hate to admit it he was right. They do not stay on the dog's paws no matter what I try. One reviewer wrote that the velcro needs to go in the front. In my experience it doesn't matter. The dog was uncomfortable and made the most sad face at me after I did get them on. He had them off in less time than it took to walk from the kitchen to the dining room - about 5 feet."

Consider Comfort prior to purchase Date: January 3, 2008
"I live in North Country New York and despite the hardiness of my Chesapeake Bay Retriever he needs the protection of a pair of paw protectors. Unfortunately these protectors do not conform to a large breed dog's paws. They are made of flexible waterproof material that is molded into a two dimensional shape that cannot conform to the three dimensional shape of a large breed dog's paws. I do not use these protectors on my dog and ended up spending more money to purchase a different protector with more consideration of my dog's comfort and health."

waste of money Date: January 2, 2008
"I have never written a review like this, but I feel it's my only way to show my discontent as I can't return my dog's "Pawtectors" which I recently received for Christmas. I asked for something to protect my Springer Spaniel's feet from the winter (he generally lifts a paw or two and doesn't want to move after being in the freezing cold for longer than 5-10 minutes). Not only does it take a few minutes to get these dog boots on, but they probably won't stay on the dog before you get 'em out the door. All 4 fell off (yes, they fit fine and snug and I put them on tightly twice - and no, he did not attempt to take them off himself). I think the quality of the booties seems high when looking at the material, but the way you velcro them is no good. Again, try them for yourself if you'd like, but my opinion would be to try another brand."

Not Made for Small Paws Date: December 5, 2007
"I am sure that people with bigger dogs get the advantage with these protectors. I have a small pomeranian, and it was uncomfortable for him to walk in because they are so stiff and does not weigh more than 10 pounds so it would take long for him to break them in. It would have been better if the material was more flexible."

Slip Sliding Away Date: July 2, 2007
"Getting up in years, I began sliding on our wood floors, especially my rear paws. My mom tried those infant hospital style "gripper" socks which slid off my paws, but my human brother bought PAWTECTORS and PROBLEM SOLVED - no more sliding. These are the most comfortable "boots" and my paws stay cool while I look cool in them!"
