"Not would I buy this product again, I am buying this product again, that is why I am here.
We have raised everything from Sheps to St. Bernards with Dobies and Great Danes in between and do own a 3/4 Mile Innotek Training Collar System that we paid over $400.00 for about 8-years ago. I don't know if the waterproofing wasn't so water proof or what but it was an incredible waste of cash as it was dead within 6-months. It's in storage in its fancy case collecting dust. On the other hand one of our Danes in particular just wouldn't shut up so we used one of these PetSafe collars from PetCo and boy did this huge Adult Dane push it. But the collar pushes back and despite being constantly antagonized by some 12-14 year young unattended neighbor girls our Dane finally shut up. It was a tough situation as our Danes were being antagonized but we had plenty of other innocent neighbors and although ALERTING is Acceptable Behavior, barking non-stop ... especially when we are gone and unable to correct on our own, is unacceptable. I always felt guilty using the hand control anyways so using this PetSafe product kept it between the dog's will and the collars durability. Our last one got the job done so all these years later with a new house and vocal Rott I'm going with Quality & Price - PetSafe!! The Citrinella Collars didn't work for us, didn't work for our neighbors or their dog whom all the other neighbors called in before we ever bought the house. The Static Stimulant collars make everyone happy except your pet as they do shut any barking dog up that I have ever used them on including a pair of Huge Great Danes once again. They also make a GREAT GIFT for neighbors with chronically barking dogs, the price is less than sleepless nights, disturbing afternoons and Neighbor Wars."

"I got this collar for my Lab a few years ago when my townhouse neighbor was complaining about her barking during the day. This has turned out to be a lifesaver! She has only had to bark once to realize what the collar was for. We've even been able to still use it even if the battery needed replacing because she just knew. I highly recommend this for anyone in the same living situation or a dog that just barks for no reason. I work at a veterinarians office and I feel this is very humane."

"My beagle has been waking up the neighborhood and I have a baby on the way, so I needed to get his barking under control. The manual says to stay with your dog the first few times he gets a correction. So we rang the doorbell to test it out, and it was a horrible sight to see my dog get his "correction". To my surprise I had bought the wrong collar! I thought I had ordered the vibration correction collar. I said I would never buy one of these, but it works. He won't be barking any more with this collar on!"

"We just adopted a stray terrier and he is a real barker when we go down to the dock to fish. For some reason he just goes nuts when he see the fishing poles and will not stop barking and trying to bite them. First evening we put on the bark collar, he barked three times and that was the end of it. What a peaceful evening it was with a quiet companion. This product saved this little dog's life by us being able to keep him."

"I was very disappointed with this product. It was expensive and it really scared my 9 month old lhasa apso. It made him not want to go outside anymore which is where he wore it. He also eventually learned to scratch the device off to the side of his neck so it wouldn't work even though it was on tight ."

"Works great. My 10 lb Shih Tzu would bark constantly for 15 min at a time. Barked once the day I put collar on her, and didn't bark the rest of the day. I LOVE IT!!!!"

"I bought 2 of them due to good reviews. Maybe I should have tried longer but after the first time putting it on one of my dogs her whole personality changed. She shook all the time, started hiding under the bed, got sick, cried, etc. I used it for two days, putting it on them when they went outside, after the first time she sat and cried at the door, or went and hid. They only go outside for about 10 minutes at a time but they bark the whole time, I decided to let them bark for 10 minutes instead of making them go through the agony with the collar."

"We have a Boston Terrier with separation anxiety. He constantly barks when he hears something outside or when we come home and don't get to him fast enough. Once our neighbors started complaining, we needed to take action. We looked at various models and prices and it came down to this particular model. The instructions for use were very easy to understand with the accompanying DVD and it worked like a charm. No more barking! Thank you PetSafe for making a reliable, affordable product."

"I have had a puppy that was a problem barker. She would bark at everything and at anytime day or night. This solved most of our problems in two weeks. She still barks a bit when it is not on her we have been trying to wean her off of it and this process has been some what successful she has her good days and her bad days. Now we just use it on her bad days which is not very often."

"My 5 month old puppy barks at anything that moves, especially the dog next door and any dogs he hears barking. I used the bark collar the first time and it really got his attention. I only applied it when he goes outside and it has curbed his barking drastically. When ever he tries it again, I apply the collar and he stops. The collar has almost totally eliminated Damien's barking problem. I highly recommend this product. Plan to give it to my brother to see if it will work on Cocoa's barking"

Didn't work on my stubborn dog

"I wish I could say that this worked on my dog, because I was praying that it would, but he seemed totally oblivious to it. I don't know if it was because of his thick fur, or the fact that he kept shaking his head to get the business end of the collar on the side of his neck where the vibrations of his barking wouldn't trigger it. Whatever the reason, it didn't work on my Australian Heeler."

"I adopted a 3 Yr old Rat Terrier who is just the BEST lil dog, in every way, except for his barking anxiety when I have to leave him for work. He never barks otherwise, but I got complaints from the neigbors in my apt building that he carrys on like crazy when I am gone. And he would have to go, if it kept up...
Well I bought this collar, and it is a Lifesaver!!
It only took one or 2 barks, and he yelped ( awww!) but quickly learned this means NO BARKING. He whined a lil bit the 1st day I left him in his crate, but now he doesn't even cry when I put him in there to leave. He lets out one SMALL bark when I return home, but not even loud enough to get zapped. I immediatley take it off when I come home. He isn't afraid of it, when I put it on...he just knows it means I am going out and he is to be quiet.
What a wonderful Training Aid... I would highly recommend it to all owners of barkers. This was his ONLY problem, and now he's good as gold! A+"

"We bought this 2 years ago when our Cinamin was about 2 months old as we were going to Vegas and had to take her to the room with us as she was too young to be boarded. So with the suggestion from one of the sales people they told us this would be the best solution just in case she started barking so we wouldn't get into trouble. She had never barked before this but we wanted to be sure that she wouldn't start so the sales guy told us to buy this one even though it said its for 8-9 lb dogs when our Cini was only 2 lbs and they hadn't yet come up with barking collars for smaller puppies. We looked everywhere for a smaller collar for 2-3 lbs but they didn't make them, yet as I've seen that they do sell now. Well, needless to say we never had to use it due to trying it on her for a better fit only to have her yelp because she was getting shocked by it for no apparant reason as she wasn't making any sounds or barking. We hurried and took it off of her to calm her down and have never used it again. Kinda lame that we paid $59 only to have this shock her scared at this collar. Lets just say she's now 2 1/2 years old and never barks- whatsoever. We don't know if she would have ever barked anyway or its because she was so shell-shocked at this shocking collar. Everyone's always so surprised with her being a Chi/Terrier that she doesn't bark as she only will when she feel she needs to protect us when she hears someone outside. I would only recommend this for larger dogs that do bark and not for ones that don't."

"If I could have seen this before purchasing it I Probably would have opted to not purchase this collar. The collar barely stays on my dog it doesen't have a secure latch. Just a few shakes or scratches and my dog has it off, then I must search the yard or house to find it. I would expect better quality from a so called training device. I don't believe it was worth the $55 I paid for it."

"Yeah, so it is a little pricey but it WORKS. Do not be fooled by cheap imitations. My longhair chihuahua used to bark all the time at any little noise she heard outside. Finally I got a note from an angry neighbor and I was devastated. I couldn't just get rid of my dog!
I tried this thing out on her. It took awhile to get the fit right, which was partly due to the fact that she is a smaller dog (about 8 or 9 lbs at the time). You have to make sure it is snug enough so that the little prong thing has contact with their throat, but not too tight. I would put it on her for a while, and then inspect her skin. If it was red, I would loosen the collar a bit until I had the perfect fit. The first time she experienced the shock, it definitely startled her but she stopped barking within 5-10 seconds. Now, I just put the collar on and she knows. It has made my life so much less stressful, and it seems like my dog is much more mellow when the collar is on, almost like she feels no need to bark when wearing the collar.
