"First of all, the description states that this will "fit any cage", but I have a SAM downunder (a compact cage sold at PetCo) and it does not fit. You can pop the top cover off, which I did, but so far my hamster won't go in it."

"i bought mine last night and i have a very small cage, so i re a ranged eveything,(i bought the bedroom set too) and it fit perfectly. Tiny loves running in and out of it. i think she will learn its purpose"

"I bought this litter box today, and my hamster Giselle got in it and she started using it right away! She likes to dig in the litter, but she does use it too. The litter box fits perfectly in her cage and she loves it as much as I do. It's cute to watch her use her potty and not spray potty all over my dresser. Before I got it she would potty in the corners of her cage and it would spray all over my dresser and now this litter box helps her and me. It cut down my cage cleaning time by eight minutes today. It not only works well, It looks ADORABLE in her cage! I would recommend this litter box to anyone with a fuzzy lipped critter that needs a solution for their potty problem... Hope you think the same, and remember that every critter is different."

"Even though I tried to train my dwarf hammy to use it, she totally didn't. She pushed pushed it out of the way the best she could, and peed around it. Though, honestly, the idea was a good one."

"My Hammie loves it!! The first day i placed in her caged she instantly checked out and figured out what to do with it. I did have to end up taking the lid of it off as you can see that Hammie is a bit big for it."

"My dwarf hamsters love running in and out of it, but they don't use it as a potty. They do roll around in it though. All animals are different, but I don't know how you could teach them to use it. It's a fun place to play though."

"I bought this for my hammie, and she doesnt really use it. she just likes to go in and then kick all the litter out of it. I have tried to train her to use it, but she doesnt want to use it. this is awesome if the hamster will actually use it."

"A good product if your pet will use it. My hamster used it and it was wonderful! But it didn't keep him from using everything else, too, so it is just a bit more to clean. Easy to clean if you keep up with it and scoop it daily. Litter is just a little expensive, but not so bad.

"My hamster will not use this as her potty. She would rather use her petting area as a potty. She loves the litter that comes with it. I put the litter in her petting area to her liking and she is now trained to one spot. She does like to use the plastic potty as a sitting area. I do not put litter in it and she likes it as her sitting space.

"I recently bought this hamster potty for my hamster, Rufus. He loves it! To my surprise he actually used it. I never thought that I would get him to use it, but I just put the potty in the cage and he took it from there. This potty is the cutest idea ever, and it's definately worth the money. The little scooper is the perfect size and it has a picture of a hamster on it. I would tell anyone who has a hamster to pick up a hamster potty with scooper. Kudos to Petco for carrying such a great product."

"i recently got a mouse from petco & i bought some toys and snacks for it. i saw the potty litter so i just grabbed it along with the rectangle dish (the cheaper one.) to my surprise, i followed the directions to teaching your mouse how to potty trained, it actually worked! i was so happy i didnt have so much junk to clean. thanks! ps. i might head over sometime soon to get the potty with the top on it"

Use Caution if you have a smaller cage

"This stylish pet potty is great if you have a large cage for your small animal but if you have one like we do, one of the down under series or the critter trail you may want another option because it is rather roomy and takes up a ton of space in the cage. In fact, in the down under it will not fit under the platform. On the up side, this is a great way to reduce waste to one area of the cage and it is fairly convenient for a busy family because it takes the cleaning time down a few notches. If you like this idea and have the space; this is the one for you. Just be patient with the litter training, it may take a few days. My best advice is to find the corner of your hammy's (or other animal) cage that they prefer and take a soiled piece of bedding and place it in the potty with the litter.After a few days they will catch on and prefer to use the potty instead of littering the cage with waste. Plus, kids really get a kick out of this! It really is fun to watch & My toddler says his hammy Poncho uses the potty like a big boy!"

"i didnt actully like this potty because the potty took up like half of my hamster's cage, and my hamster's cage is kind of big. dont let the appealing looks fool you because it may look flashy doesnt mean it doesnt work. i think people with small hamsters AND cages shouldnt buy this product. please buy something better!"
