"None of my hermit crabs drink from sponges, but it acts as a stepping stone for smaller hermits. It also slightly helps with humidity. Overall don't rely on it as a water source. The crabs prefer to drink straight from the dish."

Sponge Is Ok

"I got this sponge for my two madagascar hissing cockroaches. It is ok but it does not hold water for more than 3 days, and if it is allowed to get bone dry after getting wet it will break into dust. I reccomend to always put your sponge on a lid of some sort. (I used a ragu pasta sauce lid)"

"i have 4 hermit crabs and a big tank i bought two of these sponges and they love em...my hermit crabs prefer drinking from the sponge not the dish they bathe in the dish....they use it as a toy also to climb over it...it is a good product"

Great thing to have around

"Since the sponges will provide heat they are way cheaper than a heater and then hermit crabs won`t drown.Nobody wants that to happen,right?My hermet crabs loved it they also use it as a climbing toy."
