"My cat has a high "output," and the clay litter just turned to big, stinking globs of clay before I could scoop it out. Honestly, it was like working with smelly pottery. She hated it and I did too. We switched to Feline Pine and it's terrific. I don't notice any smell, and when it gets wet the pellets just turn to dust. As soon as the box is filled with mostly sawdust, it's time to change the box. Technically you could put the sawdust in your garden or compost pile but that's a little too ick for me. I put it in the paper lawn bags that my city requires and throw it away. It's nice to know that it will decompose naturally at the dump. You can get a coupon for a rebate on your first bag on their web site.
Cons: you can flush it away, but sometimes the sawdust doesn't flush completely. You need a special scoop to easily scoop out solids. I find that it doesn't last as long as the bag claims, but as previously mentioned my cat urinates a LOT. (checked with the vet--nothing wrong with the cat) We were going through clay really fast too. I am very grateful for Feline Pine!"
