Love this powerhead!

"I bought these to replace my old Aquaclear powerheads.
The Aquaclear heads were old & wearing out so I did some online searching to see if I could get a better price ($40 a piece seems steep to me, when I bought mine they were less). I found these Maxi-Jet powerheads as an "online only" product. I was reluctant because I don't like to buy things I can't see "in person" to check on the quality, But they had great reviews from a lot of other customers so I decided to give them a try. They have better quality air hoses that shouldn't "harden" over time like the clear ones that came with my old heads & they actually lock in place, the clear ones were always popping out because the hole was bigger than the tube! They have a higher GPH rate, are less noisy & seem to be constructed better. All this for around half the price of the Aquaclear!

"I use undergravel filters and powerheads in all my aquariums. The Maxi-Jet powerheads are excellent, you can easily configure them a number of ways, they're very nearly silent in full flow mode(no aeration), and they last a long time. I still have and continually used the first Maxi-Jet I bought about 10 years ago."

"This is the absolute best pump for an aquarium. I have been keeping reef tanks, freshwater, and reptiles for a long time now and i think that this is the one thing a hobbyist should have laying around. these pumps are powerful and durable. I am using one for a temporary sump pump and it pumps up 4' with no problem. these are durable pumps, you can suck up sand and it does not damage the pump at all. I have 6 of these pumps in total."

"Inexpensive, durable, works well off a wavemaker. I use those for a variety of application, mixing fresh saltwater, as a return pump in nano tank setups, in-tank powerheads off a wavemaker, etc."
