An Essential
Date: September 2, 2009
"When I received my first Betta, I was given a sample package of Hikari Betta Bio-Gold. Since then, I've experimented with several other products, and nothing can quite compare. None of my fish have had difficulty consuming the pellets, including some of my elderly or "rescue Bettas". When used in moderation as a part of a balanced diet, the food is ideal and comes highly recommended."

Good for some, not for me.
Date: June 19, 2009
"I have two female bettas and someone told me that this food was top of the line stuff for bettas, so I thought I would try some out. I've read a lot online that bettas don't like flakes and that this stuff really is high quality. The only problem is that my bettas cannot eat it, as the pellets are too large. They sort of eat them, munch on them, and then spit them out whole. I have to crush them up for them to eat them. I'm going to finish what I have and then go for flakes next time."

Best Betta Food EVER!
Date: February 25, 2009
"My blue/red fantail, "Geeshy", has beautiful colors and I want to keep him that way. These pellets absolutely do the trick!
I have been feeding him these pellets and they're incredible.
HE LOVES THEM.
Best of all, they don't cloud the water or sink. He snaps them up as fast as he can get to them even bypassing a freeze-dried bloodworm I add just for some variety, but these pellets are the staple and even after three, he's still begging for more!"

Betta loves this food
Date: January 17, 2009
"My Betta loves this food. My Betta used to eat tropical flakes, freeze-dried blood worms and brine shrimp, but ever since tasting these pellets, he won't eat them anymore."

Well Though Out Product
Date: January 8, 2009
"I bought this for my betta after reading the reviews AND visiting Hikari's WWW site.
I am impressed that this product is made by fish breeders, who have more at stake than just selling food.
My betta loves it and I don't have to contend with food falling to the bottom of the tank and having to be vacuumed up.
I augment Betta Bio Gold with an occasional green pea to "clean him out."
The container is really tricky and I have wasted more than I fed."

yup this is good!
Date: December 2, 2008
"Good food! Compared to some of the other food I have tried, this is superior. The pellets float on the top, and if your fish is a slow eater, they can take their time because it takes a while for the pellet to sink to the bottom (in fact, I've never seen one of the pellets sink to the bottom!). It does not dirty the water, but I wish it was a better color-enhancer."

okay, A little pricey
Date: November 29, 2008
"I bought this for my betta and he didn't ajust to it completely still, even though I've been feeding him it for over 3 months!! He loves his freeze dried bloodworms better. I guess other bettas would enjoy it just not my guy. He'll eat it and then spit it out then try to eat it again. I think he may be a little old. I guess though that his natural instincts tell him to eat the bloodworms. But he olny gets them once a week. I'm worrried he maybe starving himself. I hope he starts to like them soon!!! He just waits for them to get soggy, then they sink!! =( Well better luck to you!!! =D"

The best for betta
Date: November 13, 2008
"I would not feed my bettas anything else! Yes it seems a bit expensive, but I advise getting the bigger bag. It last FOREVER (These fishies will only eat 2-3 pellets per meal anyway). The only thing I don't like is the packaging, which while neat looking, is impractical. I just cut mine open and dumped it into a ziploc bag.
Having trouble with betta spitting out its food? Try soaking the pellets in a bowl of tank water for a few minutes before feeding so they're soft."

This food is amazing.
Date: November 3, 2008
"I've been feeding this food to my bettas for many years; it's lovely. Floats at the top so it doesn't sink (some eat slower than others, hehe!) it lasts awhile (you're only supposed to feed 2-3 pellets 2 times a day really), & definitely keeps their color looking nice. Great food! The only kind I buy, & my bettas love it (even the picky ones, hehe!)"

Very healthy
Date: July 28, 2008
"This is an excellent choice if you want your betta to live long and thrive. It is cheap, healthy, and comes in a convenient food shape. My only complaints are: the container (on the small thing of it) is awful, I am going to put mine in something else & it is hard to get your betta to switch over to if it was eating bloodworms or flakes before. When I bought mine from Petco, he was eating bloodworms and refused to eat these for a week until he finally gave into it. Great food and keeps the water clean (unless your betta hates it and chews it up to spit it out and make a mess :D)."

Wonderful Pellet Food
Date: May 2, 2008
"One of the best pellet foods on the market for bettas! I use this as a staple for my little guy and he loves it - I always presoak for several minutes before I give it to him, however, as it does expand some. I use this in combination with frozen foods and some freeze dried also as well as Omega One flakes."

Buy the Big Bag
Date: April 17, 2008
"Look, you're not going to read through all of these reviews, because there are just too many, and everyone is saying the same thing anyhow: This stuff is the best. Yes, the bits are tiny, but so is a Betta's mouth. For what you get, you might as well buy the big--well, bigger anyway--bag. It's expensive, but it'll last a long, long time. (BTW, Betta's don't usually live that long, and you shouldn't overfeed them anyhow.) I usually rotate some other food once in awhile, but this is their staple, cuz it's the best there is."

Just a few
Date: February 9, 2008
"I've been giving my betta fish this pellet fish food for 1 1/2 years now and my fish always eats the minute I feed him. When I purchased my fish I bought a small fish tank that came with rocks and fish flakes but he would not eat them, so that's when I switched to Betta Bio-Gold. Although I only feed him a few a day I purchased the larger bag knowing that it would last me longer and save me money! Thanks Bio-Gold my fish is still ALIVE!"

Great product!
Date: February 4, 2008
"This is the only food I'll feed my bettas. I love that it floats and never sinks which is what keeps the betta tanks clean. My bettas really like "hunting" the pellets before they gobble them up. I've been feeding them this for years and each one never refuses it. I highly recommend this to any new betta owner!"

Good Betta Food
Date: January 18, 2008
"I have 2 Bettas at home, and one at work. I feed them this food, and even though it is probably the most expensive Betta food it lasts A LONG TIME. All of mine live a very long time and maybe it is because of the food :) It does not seem to cloud the water at all if pieces go uneaten. All of my fish gobble this stuff up. It is supposed to keep them healthy and colors vibrant, and seems to work well with mine."

Best Food Ever!!!!!
Date: December 25, 2007
"I was at petco one day getting kibble for my 2 year old Airedale named Maggie. She was with me and we walked past the fish section, and maggie saw a little bowl with a ugly gray tiny female betta. Maggie would not move, so i had io get it. I bought the btta along with a little .5 gallon bowl, and some Top Fin betta bits. when i got home i put her in th bowl and dumped like 3 bits in there. they where about half the sixe as so i went backto petco and got BettaMin. she ate it for a few weeks and stayed tiny, gray and ugly. Nextb time i was at petco i ended up buying a tank that i thought has a filter (But was a bubble tube) so the betta min really made ithe water nasty. so i bought Betta Bio Gold, and in a week she doubled in size and after about a month she was pure white and has red fins. Well here she is 1 year later, all 2.5 inches of her. she is a monster and eats about 10 bits a day. i moved her into a 16 gallon, added a few cory cats and some ghost shrimp. well she ended up eating ALL the shrimpand is now very happy!!!!!!!!"
