"CareFresh claims it's not that dusty but upon breaking it up in our 10 gallon tank, there's dust everywhere, so much so that our hamster sometimes ends up sneezing once we put her back in.
Additionally, before we started using aspen pellets in conjunction with CareFresh, her habitat would begin to smell in a matter of days, even when she didn't clear her bathroom corner. Absorbency wasn't all that great either, as she would sometimes walk over the moistened litter and begin to smell like her urine (no such issue once we started using the aspen pellets).
I unfortunately can't compare it to similar bedding products (especially not the pellets, since they aren't really soft, but more for odor control), but I think once we run out of CareFresh we'll be trying other products to see if there's anything better out there."
