Wanda and Cosmo's Goldfish's Mom
Date: February 15, 2006
"I bought this last night for my 3 gallon goldfish bowl. Works great. I had a under gravel filter before that performed poorly.I have 2 goldfish and they're water tends to get cloudy quickly .I hooked this filter up to my already existing airater hose and it already was clearing the water an hour after I hooked it up. Good buy for those with goldfish and those with small tanks that need frequent water changes. It and it's replacement filters are inexpensive and disposable and great for small aquariums like mine . I am planning on going out and buying the replacement filters for it tonight to have on hand during my next water change."

Great Buy and Very Effective
Date: December 28, 2008
"I love this filter, it works great! It's pretty easy to set up. Just rinse off the fliter very well to get the carbon dust off. Then attach the filter with suction cups to the aquarium, cut the tubing and put the valve between the tubing connecting the pump and filter and that's all! You can tighten the valve so that the filter current isn't too high.
My betta loves the filter, as the current is pretty weak so it doesn't hurt his fins. The filter really does keep the water clear and healthy. The only fault with the filter is that you have to replace it every 2-4 weeks. But it's only about 5 bucks per replacment, and the filter's great. This is probably the best thing I've ever boughten from Petco.

"This is way superior to the undergravel filter I used to have. The plastic fastener broke that holds the tube, but it still works. Once it stopped working for me, but all it needed was a good cleaning to get it going. It makes some noise, and filters that come with tanks are usually quieter. It also isn't a very good color and doesn't really complement my 2 gallon betta tank. If I could make the choice again, I would rather get a tank with a good built in filter rather than buy this, but it works. =)"

Penn Plax Smallworld Filters
Date: October 29, 2008
"These are excellent little filtering systems for small tanks. I use them on my 2 1/2 gallon hospital tank for injured fish or when I quarantine my new fish.
Don't want to hurt Penn Plax's business, they make awesome aquarium products. Just want to pass along to people that if you gently cut along the edge of the filter cartridges you can easily take off the back panel. Once inside you can clean the sponge material and add or replace the carbon. This will make the cartridges last indefinitely. Love Penn Plax and these refills are relatively cheap, but in this tough economy we all need to save where we can. GOOD LUCK!
