"purchased this feeder because I was planning a trip and would be gone for a few days. Saddly this feeder misses a major required feature and that is some sort of moisture prevention. weather it connects to an air pump or has its own means a fish food feeder needs to keep the food dry. I was only gone three days and the orange dispencing tube was mud when I returned."

"Of the three feeders I purchased this was the cheapest but fell in the middle as far as usefulness. Cannot set a feeding time; it just turns around twice a day. No controls at all (you can adjust the amount of food). Works very well with powdered food but flakes (even crushed flakes) will clog it up."

"It works fine when it works. Shouldn't need more than 1 battery change a year in this thing and it's more like every month. Food gets stuck. If the fish are the splashing type they can get the food wet and it won't dispense food cause it's all clumped together.
Just minor issues but it's still a must have if you have a big tank that needs to be fed often."

"I did a "trial run" with the feeder outside the tank first to make sure it worked and used a new battery each time. Filled the feeder with small flake and secured it to the back of my marine aquarium so that the food would drop in the back on two separate week-long vacations this summer. Returned to find fish appearing fed and content."

"Bought the feeder and tried two different kinds of flake food (small and very small). The feeder did not work at all! Can hear it ticking but does not seem to rotate. $30 down the drain. Food dispensed by it (when manually turned to test it) is a bit too little to even feed two growing gold fishes. Don’t buy it!"

Daily Double Keeps 'em Fed

"I've used Daily Doubles for years. I even had an ancient one that plugged in the wall outlet. They've all worked great. I use them to automatically feed my fish a staple food, then I can give them treats when I have time to look the tank over. I crush my flakes up a little and keep the opening to the tank small so humidity does not affect the feeder. By the way, humidity affects all of the feeders I've used over the years. You just have to know how to limit it."

"I've had my feeder for over 8 years now and it's still ticking!! I'm buying another one for my second aquarium; it's sooooo reliable!! I never worry about my fish going hungry or forgetting to feed them; it just does it for me!! I do find that grinding the flake food into smaller pieces is beneficial, though."
