Highly Recommend

"My Lab was about 12 years old when I started feeding ths product. I basically started her on this food because of her dry coat. I was pleasantly surprised when her foot and ear allergies cleared up as well. Happily she will be 13 in July and still thriving. She had an excellent vet check in May, good weight, heart and lungs both good."

THE best veggie food. Just ask my dogs!
Date: June 2, 2009
"My oldest dog was diagnosed with food allergies a few years back and at the time I purchased the only thing around - the very expensive vegetarian dog food from my vet. Within a month, my dog's skin improved beyond belief. Unfortunately it became difficult for me to afford to continue to feed it to her. I found this food at less than half the price and she (and my other dog that is not food-sensitive) love it. In fact, they snub any other food at this point! I will always feed this to my babies and I will also give it to any dogs I may own in the future. For the same price as most grocery store foods, I can give them clean and healthy food.
Oh! The canned version of this is amazing too. When I feed it to them you would think I put prime rib in their bowls. I am not kidding. I have no idea how they can make veggie food that is so appealing to carnivores but trust me, they can!"

Fanatastic!

"My German Shorthair had a terrible time finding a food for her sensitive tummy and her picky taste buds.
She has been eating Natures recipe for one year now and is keeping it all down. She loves the taste!

Great product
Date: March 30, 2008
"One of my Great Danes (I had a brother and sister) developed multiple allergies--food, environmental, seasonal--at about one year old. His skin would break out in horrid, red splotches and his hair would fall out. My vet diagnosed him with allergies, and since we weren't sure at that point WHAT he was allergic to, she thought we should start with the most common/obvious cause, food. So for a whole year I fed him nothing but prescription dry food, which consisted of nothing but fish and potatoes. He did great on that!
However, his sister refused to eat her normal food--she figured, hey, if my brother gets that special food, that's what I want, too! And feeding TWO Great Danes prescription food that cost $50 for 30 pounds--which they went through in less than a week--was just a tad bit expensive. After a year I asked my vet if I could try a non-prescription allergy formula, and she agreed with the caveat that if my [male] dog had a return of his symptoms we'd go back on prescription food.
I looked around, read a lot of labels, and finally decided to give Nature's Recipe Vegetarian Allergy Formula (as it was then called) a try. That was 7 years ago and I've never looked back. He--and his now deceased sister--loved it, whether fed dry or with the addition of canned food. (Although I'm vegetarian, and was thrilled to find a veggie food for my dogs, I did gradually add meat back into their diet because they are, after all, dogs.) He eats one dry meal in the morning and one with a can added at night, and he's doing great.
My 'baby' is now elderly by Great Dane standards--he just turned 9 earlier this month--but thorough exams (including lab work, x-rays, ultrasounds, and more) have caused my vet to proclaim him to be "in excellent health, not just for a SENIOR dog, but for ANY dog." :)
I highly recommend this product. I really can't say enough about how good it is."
