"I have a fluffy cat that would hack up hairballs almost daily. Sometimes it would be just hair and other times there would be food mixed in, just depends on how long she had eaten before feeling ill. Anyway, it was pretty gross to clean up the ones with food mixed in, not to mention the sad noise the cat would make right before hacking one up, so I went online to see what types of remedies were out there. After reading the reviews on eveything, this is the only stuff I wanted to try, as virtually everyone that left a review raved about it. So I bought it, put a little strip on top of my cat's food daily for a few days (as package suggests) and no hairballs since. I now give her a 1 inch strip only twice a week (as package directs). This stuff really does work! I also wanted to mention that I don't have to go to any trouble as far as getting the cat to eat it. I put it on top (don't even have to mix it in) of her food, and she eats it first. None left behind. If you have the problem I had you'll definately be thrilled with this product."

"I can't really speak about how much my cats like the malt flavor, because all I've ever given them is the fish. Which they both absolutely love. It definitely seems to help with cutting down on the hairballs. It hasn't completely eliminated them (especially after a good brushing...) but it certainly helps a lot."

"I have 2 rabbits and this was recommended for their hairballs by a vet, they love the flavor, eat it right from the tube. Now I have a cat and tried giving it to him and he loves it too. I will buy the family size. Highly recommended."

"My 11 year old Himalayan has a horrible problem with hairballs, and there is nothing more disgusting than coming home to 3 new hairballs all over your couch. Even though Sassy is on Hairball control food, it didn't seem to be helping as much as I would have liked, so I resorted to a supplement. I brought home Petromalt with great skepticism since Sassy is finicky about everything put in a bowl in front of her. To my pleasure and surprise, she loves it, and eats it immediately when I put it down for her. I haven't had to clean up one hairball in over two weeks!!!"

"this stuff really helped my constipated cat. he didn't love the taste (or maybe the texture?) and wouldn't eat it off my finger, but he licked some off his paw and also ate it with some tuna juice dribbled over it. within a few days, he became more regular."

"I originally purchased this for a roommates 8 yr old cat. He would eat it, then my cat wanted in on the action. After a few times my less than 2 yr old cat would not eat it.
Now I have to smear it on his paws. The first time I did it, I didn't put on thin enough and found it all over the place (as he shook his paw it came off) I purchased the fish flavor (in the store) and it smells nothing like fish.
I can't really comment on the effectiveness on the product because my cat only gets hairballs occassionally.
I've tried other hairball gravy's on their food, but they wouldn't eat it.
I am going to try another product on this website and we'll see how that goes...taste wise that is.
Otherwise I'm waiting for my "deluxe shedender" to be shipped. So there will be less fur to get a hairball!"

"I have been using this product for a few years now. I have a persian cat who is now reaching his elder years and will occasionally go through seasons where he begins to cough up hairballs on a regular basis. I call this product, his "candy" because that is what it reminds me of when I get ready to take it out to feed him. He loves the stuff! From day one, he loved it! And it really does seem to help with his hairball situation. So just like a kid in a candy store, this is what it is to my cat whenever he sees me pull out the red box!
