"I have two cats. Both with hairball issues. Since using this for about a year there is no hairballs for one and for the other 85% less hairballs on the carpet!! The quality and the ingredients meet my cats daily nutritional needs. My cats most especialy like the smaller size not the nuggets. Easy for them to chew."

"My two pals have always been Science Diet lovers. I've tried other brands and only manage to get through part of the bag before they begin to refuse it. (I know, my cats are spoiled!) So now I just start off with the brand they love and we have no issues.
I usually mix it up within the brand with this variety being the latest purchase but I'm so pleased with this one that we'll be getting another large bag! Since being on this food I've noticed softer coats in both cats, no hairballs (imagine that?), and only one vomiting episode. (Which is a pleasant surprise, even compared to other Science Diet varieties!). If you're expecting the small round pieces, you'll be surprised by the size of this food - it's much larger but still very manageable. One odd thing though, my cats won't eat the crumbs. :)"

"We all know how finicky cats can be. Our particular cat has about 8-9 different bags of dry food open at one time (spoiled cat!). We switch to different brands from time to time (wife says he wants variety in his food, like her!), but he genuinely seems to love his Science Diet (especially the Original flavor) - no question that our cat is definitely a Science Diet cat! We always have Science Diet in our pantry: Original, Ocean Fish and Rice, Hairball and Indoor are his SD choices and staples. The other brands are for "variety," and not nearly as favorable. I understand that our cat is a Science Diet cat and yours may not be. Other brands he doesn't eat go to the shelter so as not to waste the purchase."

"cat food. I have tried giving my cats other food, however, most of the other foods give my boys nasty-smelling potty and nausea/vomiting. Nothing keeps them satisfied like Hill's Science Diet cat food! It's the only one I give to my boys!"

"My 8 year old cat has been on SD hairball for most of her life. SHE LOVES IT! I used to mix it with other brands to give her a variety. When there was no SD left in the bowl, she would sit there and wine for it. Hairballs basically disappeared after that, with an occasional one in the summer when shedding was at it's prime. My 4 year old cat enjoys it now too. Kibbles are a bit big for her, which leads to crumbs all over. Being a long haired cat, SD still is actively controlling shedding & hairballs as well as my 8 year old shorthaired cat."

"My cats do SO well on this food. I had tried to switch them to a slightly cheaper indoor cat food, and even after VERY slowly introducing it, after only two days exclusively on the new food, they were both dry heaving on hairballs and their litter box was about twice as full as usual. I switched them right back to Science Diet, and there are no more hairballs, their litter box residue is much less, and they run around the house playing like crazy. I would recommend this food to anyone who has medium-to-long-hair cats that have hairball issues..."

"My mom bought this for my long haired cat Boots because he has a lot of trouble with hairballs. Well we've been using it but it didn't seem to work to me. Then I found out she had been mixing it with Light Science diet instead of buying the Light Hairball formula. So I'm sure this product works great when you use it by itself."

"I have a long haired cat who has only ever eaten the regular Science Diet food. She was having a problem throwing up a lot, due to hairballs. The vet suggested mixing her food 1/2 Regular Formula and 1/2 Hairball Control. This has worked wonders for her! She is only 6 pounds and tends to be sensitive, so the half and half was perfect for her little tummy!"

"I have a Birman who sheds quite a bit and even though I use the Zoom Groom and a fine-tooth comb she still had hairballs coming up. So we switched to the Hairball control formula and after about 2 weeks, no more hairballs!! This really works great!"
