"My always energetic lab mix was able to put a few puncture marks in the original Kong toy, but not this one! I like to fill it with canned food, or plug one end and fill it with water and treats then freeze it! This one will keep him entertained about twice as long as the original because the goodies get stuck in the hourglass shape! Toby loves this toy!"

The rope and the rubbar thing lasted seperately

"My dog loves all toys. Basically. And this one was no exception. However, within a short period of time the rope and the toy had been separated, and that was annoying. The knots at the ends of it aren't very sturdy. That being said, she enjoyed it very much, and played with both pieces for a long time afterward.
The rope did disintegrate eventually, and that left annoying pieces of rope throughout the house. The rubber thing was eventually lost, I think. Like all Kong rubber, it did stand up well."

"bought the medium (wasn't sure if large came with the rope or not) for my dane puppy. he loves the rope (easy pulling for his baby teeth) and the kong itself for teething and chewing on. he loves this thing! it smells AWFUL now that his saliva is all over it, but once he chews through the rope (he's not being that destructive about it) he'll have the nice kong to work with for a long time."

"I have a wolf hybrid that loves to chew. I went through several chew toys a month. This is the first one that I have not needed to replace. I still have it and it has been two months. It is not only tough it helps keep his teeth nice and healthy. I know have a chow mix to and they fight over who gets to chew this toy. I recommend this to anyone who has a tough chewer. Just make sure you choose the correct size for your dogs weight."

"I love this Kong. I suggest not using the Kong Stuffing though. It's very liquidy and slides right out so your dog doesn't have to work for it. I like to freeze different healthy snacks inside of it instead. My Border Collie has been working on it now for about a half hour and he's no where near done. I have only just started using it so I don't know how well it will keep his teeth clean. So far, we both love it."
