"The exercise ball on top can actually easily be removed and has a lid that slides over, turning it into a ball the mouse can use around the house. The bars keep mouse from chewing it's way out. It is hard to clean though. You have to take the whole thing apart."

"This is the first cage I got for my hamster Haruki. The first disclaimer this cage has to offer is that it is easily cleaned. Just lift up the two pegs at the bottom and lift the cage... This did not work. The cage fell apart anyways. So, for the past 6 months, i have just taken apart the cage and put it back together after cleaning. Haruki loves this cage, but the only thing is, it is easily broken. little plastic pieces are broken off easily during cleaning if you are not EXTREMELY careful. Over all, I would recommend this cage to a friend while also cautioning them to use extreme care while handling parts. Also, this is NOT the cage to buy if you don't want to spend a minimum of 30 minutes cleaning it."

"Bought this for my son for his Birthday along with a hamster. The little piece that flips over to hold the exercise ball on broke, it is a very thin plastic part and is now being held together with tape to keep the ball in place. You can not take the ball off and leave it off because you will have an open tube as well as a big hole in the top of the cage. And the clasp that opens and closes the lid on the little tower broke as well. So we had to use that hole for tubes. Do not waste your money on this cage. It has not held up. It only took 4 months for those pieces to break. Not so easy to clean when you take the bottom off most of the time the cage comes apart and you have to put it back together."

"my hamster got away for some reason....we have to search for her inside the house..thanks god she was doing oky. this cage is not stable..it seems that it will fall apart anytime...the slide part going to the wheel it kinda height for a hamster to jump to slide down....maybe about 2inches away...never buy this go for petco brand...my hamster likes that cage and it has a complete set to start w/ur new hamster/s."

Easy to Escape!!

"Oreo may be a very intelligent hamster, but this cage is too easy to escape for the most simple minded critter! Watch out! You may think that the latch is secure on the top dome, but your little hamster can bump her head a few times and knock it open like ours! Tape has been helping to keep it closed, but we shouldn't have to resort to this measure for a brand new cage. Oreo's also escaped from the ball. It doesn't clip securely to the tube where she enters. We've watched our clever critter wiggle her nose in between the ball and tube to get the clip loose and climb on out!
If you want to chase after your hamster on a daily basis, you might want to buy this thing. But, like us... we find it very frustrating!!!"

"My hamster, Jack, has escaped this cage many times. He escapes from the front door and the dome. He likes it, but most of the mornings we found him running around the house. We had to put tape on the dome and a strong clip on to prevent this from happening. He likes the dome to sleep in all day in it. I know because when I come home from school, he's in there sleeping. He also likes the ball. Sometimes, When he is bored, he makes a nest in it. But most of the time he runs in it.It's a good cage, but i'm sure there is a way better one somewhere."

"We bought the cage with our 1st hamster 3-4 mos ago. We got a Panda Bear hamster and the 1st one escaped, the second one up and died about 2 weeks after we bought it and now we are on our 3rd "a Guenie Pig" our daughters hamster. He is a teddy bear hamster and he has escaped 3-4 times from the dome and the cage door. The cae dooe opens very easily so we had to bend the hook & lock system and the dome just pushes open very easily. It stinks and the ball makes me think the water is constanly running at night, mind you the hamster about 2 bedrooms away. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CAGE!!"

"Although it looks as though your hamster will enjoy the cage, especially the ball on top, you will need to spend at least 15 minutes ea. day cleaning the top of the cage, as well as your furniture cage rests upon (hamster will use this ball for nesting and running; as it runs the litter, waste products, seeds will fly out of the ball); similarly, you will probably want to empty what's left in the ball before another nights run begins! Beware, in the morning..repeat all steps noted!"

"I love this cage! My hamster loves it too! She is a syrian hamster and uses the entire thing. I am glad because she is always doing something so part of the cage is not wasted. This is my first hamer and I would reccomend it to any new-hamster owners. It makes having a hamster sooo easy. It's a blast!"

"Our hamsters use the ball and the upper habitat for a bed and a bathroom and food holder. It stinks all the time no matter how often you clean it. The doors and upper habitat are not secured well and our hamsters escape quite often. We have resorted to using wire ties to hold the door closed and tape for the habitat. I would recommend a wire cage instead. They are much nicer."

"I got my mice for Christmas and I love this cage.There is reasons that I would give 2 thumbs down to. I don't like the ball, because my 3 mice use it as a toilet and it makes it gross to clean out. We blocked out the entrance to the ball so my mice can't get into it. It is hard to put back together when we clean it out. It is very cute how my tan and white mouse sleeps in the tubes. They all love the petting zone. They enjoy being pet from up there.I would highly recomend this cage to anyone that wants a good cage for their cute little critter."

"I bought this cage for my two pet mice and that is all that I would recommend it for. I have had many larger rodents over the years such as hamsters and gerbils and I would definately not keep them in this cage just for the fact that they would probably escape, more than likely through the wheel at the top right of the cage. It is poorly designed in that sense, a hamster could probably push the lid right off, plus the ball barely attaches and I attached scotch tape to secure it, although I'm sure a hamster could still force its way out. Good cage for mice though, they really like the tunnels, and can fit two mice comfortably."

"I got this cage for my b-day since I wanted it so bad for my hamster. After I got, cleaning it was absoloutley horrible. The big funnel leading to the lookout tower was the worst. My hamster had peed in there and it got stuck. It was disgusting. My hamster liked it, I didn't. I would not reccomend this product, but if you are willing to clean it would be a good house for your small animal."
