"This is truly a great item for smaller turtles. I have hatchlings and they love it. Since I only have about 5-6" of water in my tank due o the tiny turtles, I add weight (rocks actually) to the bottom of the log to hold it down. With it's real log look and feel, holes in the sides and ends, it's a great basking item for your turtles. They can bask, play, sleep, and hang out in and around the log. The instructions say it can handle two 4" turtles on the log at the same time, so it's not meant for larger tu-tu's. "
