"in terms of noise, it is about the same as other air pumps. The shape is great. you can put it on a hard surface and it wont start shaking or moving around. Ive had other air pumps and they start moving and making sounds on a hard surface. the feet have lots of rubber. very powerful air pump"

"I actually have two of them, a 40 and a 100. Both of which have ran non stop for three years without as much as a vibration, what else could you ask for? The larger one I actually painted black and proudly display it on top of my light hood. A geat purchase for any size tank."

"I bought a different (cheaper) air pump 1st and it seriously sounded like a jack-hammer. My tank is 55 gallons and right next to my TV...so I took it back.
This pump is like night and day with the cheaper one...so quiet, worth the extra few bucks!!!!!!!!!!"

"I bought the 20 gallon pump for my tank and it is very quiet. At least compared to the Elite brand air pump I have been using on my 10 gallon tank. Now after using the Whisper I think I'm going to buy another one for my 10 gallon.

"Quiet, stylish, and does it's job. That's basically all you need. It's a great pump, the only thing you can hear is the motor inside doing it's job. The 'feet' on the 'legs', whatever they are made of, absorb the vibration so it's quiet. If you're going to run a lot of lines with a 10 gallon, get a 20. Enjoy it!"

"i bought this product because it had a high rating. when i first plugged it in it was very quiet and then maybe 30 minutes later until now its really really loud. i just unplug it when im annoyed by it. my grandpa has an air pump thats about 20 years old and is much more quiet than this one. i guess if u dont care about loud noise then buy it but if vibration noises annoy you then find something better"

"This pump is quiet and works well. It does have 2 outlets, but I ran both into my control valve. Plenty of air. I am running 2-12" air stones and 2 power heads with it and could still run more."
