Super silent

"The silent spinner is a very appropriate name.. Unfortunately, like most wheels that are constantly used, it will eventually wear out. If the pet using this wheel isn't very heavy, it will probably last longer than it did for my nearly one pound hedgehog. He LOVES his wheel and ran on it for hours on end at night. The wheel lasted about a year before it just fell apart. I will be buying another one soon. Another drawback of this wheel is that it is curved so that if the animal messes in the wheel, it STAYS in the wheel.. causing him/her to run in his/her own mess. This means you need to clean it more frequently than wheel that aren't curved. Other than that, this is THE quietest wheel out there. Trust me, I've been through every single wheel petstores sell."

It lasted 2 yrs for me

"As the title states, it lasted a long time for me. Yes the back part where the screw is did crack recently (and so I have to purchase another one) but this is a good product. My chinchilla sleeps in it, goes crazy at night w it, and he absoultely loves it. Yes it is silent, but after a while of some wearing out, it does start to squeak a bit."

"I got this for my chinchilla and she ran on it every day but within a month, the back cracked and in another week, it snapped in half. The wheel part kept falling off and I had to keep screwing it back on."

"i bought this for my chinchilla, and he loved it for about a week, then the piece that holds the screw on fell off, so i bought a replacement screw, but after about another week the inside cracked, like all around the center, and i had to stop using it, i up graded to a much bigger metal wheel, which is proving to be a much better investment.."

Huge and ummm not extremeley silent

"I recently bought this wheel for my Golden Hamster. He LOVES! it. This wheel would support a guinea pig with no problem. It is a huge wheel. My hamster is always active at night well because they are of course nocturnal. This wheel does make a good deal of noise but not nearly as much as my other standard wheel that i used.. So overall I would reccomend it"

"If "Wireless" (without bottom stand), the wheel being attached to your cage can break the wires and damage your cage. This has happened to me and a friend.
And this wheel ISN'T silent. It makes a ton of noise and keeps me up at night.

Not so Silent Wheel

"Although our chinchilla enjoyed being on the wheel, we were extremely disappointed at the amount of noise it creates. We had bought the smaller version for our gerbil and loved it. The 12" Silent Spinner Wheel is anything but silent. We tried using it with just the base, with just attaching it to the cage and with using both methods combined. Of course our little furry friend is most active when we sleep and nobody could get any sleep as long as this wheel was in the cage."

"I am so glad i bought this wheel. The wheel that came with the cage was big and plastic and noisy and kept me up all night. When bought this wheel it was a dream come true. (no pun intended) My hammie even uses it more than the original wheel. It's easy to clean, noiseless, and durrable."

"My hedgehog is on her second wheel now. The first wheel lasted about 9 months. The second wheel I am still using (over 9 months) and I noticed some improvements from the first one. The new version has two rubber stabilizer wheels to keep the wheel from vibrating (previous one had only one). My current wheel is now getting a little noisy since the rubber stabilizing wheels are wearing down. Would definitely recommend this wheel to anyone looking for a wheel which is safe for creatures with little feet that could get caught in wire mesh wheels and want a quiet wheel. The only thing this wheel needs is a washer between the middle pivot to keep the wheel from falling off if not tightened enough. I put one on and have not had the wheel fall off again."

"I love this wheel, I bought a cage from coastal cages which had a wheel build in, but it was so loud and annoying at night when we were trying to sleep. So I found this wheel and figured what the hay I might as well give it a shot. I am so glad I did. It fits nicely in my cage and is big enough for my adult rats to use. Not to mention it is safe for their little paws and tails. I like this wheel because when the girls are in their cage I can put it in with them to use, and also take it out and put it back on the stand for when they have outside playtime. This is a wonderful product, my girls get their exercise and I get my sleep."

"This is the most silent wheel ive gotton. But my teddy bear hamster is a maniac! he runs 50 miles per hour so it makes a little noise. as you may have read in other reviews it brakes but i had mine for 7 weeks and hasnt broke yet. i would reccommened this product is your hamster doesnt run really fast"

Great Concept, but needs modification

"This is a great product, it is quiet and very safe. I purchased the wheel for my small Robo hamsters and my two gerbils. The wheel is wonderful for my tiny Robo hamsters, because they weight next to nothing.
Unfortunately, the wheel lasted 5 days under the constant running of my two gerbils. The plastic bracket that holds the wheel to the base is flimsy, and snaps off.
My gerbils REALLY enjoyed this wheel; when I replaced the broken wheel with a traditional metal "squeaky" wheel, their running time decreased noticeably. I would really like to buy another Silent Spinner, but it is too pricey to replace on a WEEKLY basis.
If the manufacturer modified the bracket so that the product lasts a reasonable amount of time I would gladly purchase this wheel again.. and pay more too!!"

"We have two Degu's that are on these wheels constantly. We have tried almost everywheel made because between the chewing and use nothing seems to last very long. These wheels are definitely quieter then the average wheel. Work really nice attached directly to the cage and easy to install."

"We own a chinchilla- this is the only wheel to buy. It's much cheaper to buy on line then in the store. Petco is the only store to actually carry in the store. It really is silent."

"After buying countless numbers of wheels for my long haired hamster Guido I finally stumbled on the Silent Spinner and was dumbfounded! It makes no noise whatsoever and Guido has four left paws so when he runs it makes other wheels bounce up and down but the silent spinner stays right where I put it...silently!"
