"I thought my chins would love this product since it's made with timothy hay but that was not the case. They don't like at all. They wont eat it they just throw it all over their cage and wont eat 'til I give them something else."

"The pellets are very small, and most chinchillas like to pick up their food and eat it. Also, I wouldn't get this for a younger chinchilla because of the low protein level.

Otherwise, my chinchilla didn't mind it."

Good base diet Date: January 16, 2007
"The nice thing about this food is that it doesn't have seeds and other treats mixed in it. The chins usually will eat all of those items first which causes them to have an unbalanced diet. This is just straight pellet food. Treats should only be given to chins by hand, it shouldn't be made available in their regular food."

"When I first brought my chin home, I guess she was stressed because she had bad diarrhea. In her cage I had a mix of pellets and seeds. I got rid of that stuff and switched to this and her diarrhea was gone in about two days. (I also gave her timothy hay) This is also the food they have in their cages in the store."

"This feed isn't too bad. It's a little low on the protien, so give your chinchilla some alfala hay to compliment these pellets."
