"I cannot say enough good things about this item. My 5 year old tabby cat had a very stubborn clump of matted fur on her back that we were unable to get out for some time now. I was hesitant about taking her somewhere to get it taken out, as she is scared of other people. I read the other reviews on this product and ordered it (since it was discontinued at my local store). I used it today to get the clump out. It took about 3 minutes and I started from the ends of the hairs and worked my way down. I ended up snipping off the clump once I had it long enough and away from the skin. It is gone now thanks to this product. I highly recommend it."

"My shitzu's hair isn't too long but his ears are. They get tangled, but since I comb him everyday with this brush, no more tangles! My daughter has a cockapoo. His ears also get tangled a lot. When I babysit him, I always brush his ears and body with this brush. Works great for the whole body on both dogs and their tails also! I LOVE IT. This is the only place I found that sells this brush--don't ever quit selling it in case mine breaks! BOTH SHITZU and COCKAPOO thank you!"

"What a great brush!! My cat has had these knots in the hair above his back for a few months and wasn't sure what to do. I had considered shaving him but wanted to try this brush first. It only took about 15 minutes and they are gone! It didn't hurt him he just kept purring while I did it. Definitely worth your money!"

"So many people talked about how great this was for their cat, I wanted to share how wonderful this is for my dogs! I have Labradoodles and the very curly type coats tend to grow matts if not constantly groomed.. Especially from puppy/adulthood transition. This brush is small so it takes some time to do the entire coat, but this has saved me from having to shave the coats of beautiful dogs. It really does an amazing job - even on large dogs!"

Too rough for my Persian

"I bought this brush along with the Finishing Touch comb for my Persian. While she loves the comb, she is very unhappy with this brush. The prongs on the comb are too sharp for her delicate skin, and it is difficult to control the amount of force to get the mats out without hurting her. We have stuck to the comb and the slicker brush for now. I keep trying it, just in case, especially after paying so much for this brush."

"have to agree with all other posters. our maine coon gets big fat knots of matted hair and we've used all sorts of brushes & combs. this one is by far the most effective and most comfortable (for my arm and for kitty) to use on his long hair. gets right under and into the matt, so you can wiggle it around and loosen the hair, then gently pull out the matts."

Really gets the under coat

"I got this because I have a Norwegian Forest Cat and he gets really bad knots in his fur. This helps get the knots out pretty fast, but he still gets nippy with me. I also have a manx and she is such a skittish little thing, but she loves to get brushed with this! It even got a knot out that I have been trying to remove for a long time, and it hasnt come back yet! I just cant believe how much loose fur of the under coat it removes too, and with 4 cats getting all the hair I can is important. Its worth the money"

"I just bought this for my cat and it is amazing. She currently has about 6 matted balls underneath her legs. I just worked out 2, so we are down to 4. I love this thing!! I will recommend it to everyone I know who's cat's fur is like my cat's."

"I think over the years I have tried every type of brush on the market as I have always had long haired cats. None of the other brushes ever really worked, but this one not only work right away, it also did pull or hurt my cats but grabbed right onto the matted hair and worked it right out. I love it and have told all my friends and family about it. Thanks for carrying such a great product!"

"I have a Chinese Crested with very fine long hair that seems to get matted no matter how much I comb her. I loved this mat and tangle remover because it to help get tangles out quickly and completely. The size was small enough for me to use without scaring her."

"Our cat is 11 years old. She has been having trouble cleaning herself on her back and upper hip area - our vet said this was due to arthritis. Her hair matting was not an issue before this and were at the end of our rope. She had huge mats that were several months old and getting worse every day and she would not let me do anything with them. She's a very sweet and mild cat until you go to mess with her matted hair. As a last resort I ordered this brush and could not believe it - This brush is amazing! Within 15 minutes all her mats were gone, plus she did extremely well through the process. As badly matted as she was in certain areas I was amazed at how quickly it removed the mats. There were only a few times she got testy with me - I am so relieved and thankful to have found this - I know our cat has to be feel so much better and we are happy that we don't have to do anything drastic to get rid of the mats. We will be using this every week now. Thank you!"

"My cat was getting some serious mats underneath his armpits and on his hips. I tried to brush him, but it just wasn't happening. I also tried to cut them off, but the mats were too close to the skin. I was going to take him to a groomer, but I decided to try a mat buster first. This thing worked great! Ninja (the cat) wasn't too excited about it, but it practically got the mats out instantly. I didn't try to pull out all of his mats at once, I just did them one at a time so he wouldn't hate me forever. I would reccomend this to anyone who is having issues with thick mats."

Works to remove matts and prevent new ones

"I have a lmedium-long haired white cat, with thick, dense fur on his back. He is always getting mats, despite regular brushing. They end up having to be cut out. Once I started using this Mat and Tangle Remover brush, it removed mats that were forming, and with regular use, has prevented any more. He is completely mat free for the first time since birth - he turns 8 soon! He likes the brush, too, and it makes brushing him with any brush afterwards pain free, which is even better."

"My poor cat Mitzi had quite a few tangles in her beautiful black coat. She is quite difficult to groom because she can become a bit aggressive. But this little rake really does the job without much complaints from her. It works much better, and apparently less painful than trying to detangle her hair using a comb.

"I have a himilayan cat and she had a lot of matted hair on her underside. I purchased this tangle remover to try on her and it got every tanlge and hair mat off of her and she didn't hurt her at all. I haven't had to use it on her since (no more matted hair), it was about 3 months ago when i used it on her."
