My Nanday loves them
Date: November 4, 2009
"I got these in and I showed my Conure her new perch and sat her on it, she looked at it for a second or two and got off of it. A few minutes later after she ate she went right to it and cleaned her beak on it and sat on it and started looking around, like it was just another perch. And she uses it daily."

The Best Nail Conditioning Perch Available!
Date: October 22, 2009
"Unlike concrete these perches will NOT harm your parrots feet! I use them for all of my parrots :: From a tiny parrotlet to larger quaker parrot. Although I don't have canaries or finches anymore, if I did I would they would have one of these perches in their cage too. (You know how difficult it can be to trim those tiny bird's nails!) A Nail Conditioning Perch is an essential cage accessory for all new Parront's (Parrot-Parents!), and this is the ONLY one to ever buy. When bringing a new bird home you will need :: A large cage with the correct bar spacing, toys, * manzanita perches , and of course At Least ONE Polly's Sand Walk Orthopedic Nail Trimming Perch! {*Manzanita perches are the easiest 'everyday' bird perches to clean up, no matter what anybody tries to convince you. As long as they are not Sandblasted!}"

can't use
Date: August 23, 2009
"I bought the Polly perch and was sent the bright pink one. My Goffin cockatoo is terrified of it, I can't put it in the cage she spent hours hanging from the top of the cage scared of it. I finally took it out. Tried again the next day and put it in a corner of her cage she doesn't go to much, same thing. I think its the color, nothing else scares her. I think if you could choose your colors it would be better."

Not hard to clean
Date: January 4, 2009
"My birds love these perches. I put them in front of their food bowls so they sit on them to eat. After eating they "clean" their beaks off. Their beaks look so much better no more pealing.
I know that several people have said that these are hard to clean. For future buyers you just have to know how to do it!!!! ;)
Take some really hot water out of the faucet and let it run over the mess for a couple of minutes and then take a tooth brush and scrub it off. This works great and I clean all the perches like that."

Weird little perch, but bird likes it!
Date: July 9, 2008
"This is an odd looking perch, but my bird likes it and if it will help keep his nails and beak trimmed, I'll take it!"

Gret Product, Wish you could specify color
Date: June 4, 2008
"These perches are great. My African Grey keeps her nails trimmed effectively with it, with no need for traumatizing vet visits or nail clippings. The only problem is, the first one we bought was green and now she will only use a green one. We tried to replace it with a blue one when the green one stopped being effective and she wouldn't even go near it. The problem is, you cannot order a specific color and its random which ones each store has, so we have to call around to different Petco stores to find a green one!"

It took him a few days
Date: May 28, 2008
"I bought the blue perch for Groucho, and needless to say that he avoided it totally for the first couple of days.I actually had to move his food . lol
Anyway, one morning I caught him sliding his beak around the new perch,so I knew that it was only a matter of time.
I haven't had this very long, but so far,he's finally accepted it and using it,and I think it will soon become one of his favorite perches.

Date: May 3, 2008
"These are great, they keep my flighty friends nails trimmed, I also noticed them rubbing their beaks on it a lot as well. They love these and they are their favorite perches! The only bad thing is they are a little hard to clean."

Nails stay trimmed
Date: February 12, 2008
"I love this perch! I have had it forever it seems and Gizmo's nails always stay trimmed down. It has had tons of washes and still is sandy.
I like to put it right in front of his food bowl where I know he will hang out the most and get his nails done at the same time.

Great perches!
Date: January 19, 2008
"These are just wonderful! They easily keep my conure's nails trim and I noticed he was using them to trim his beak as well. I bought them in different sizes which I also think is more helpful. It did take him a few days to accept them and start using them, but he is suspect of most new things. They really do what they say they will."

Awesome Perch
Date: May 30, 2007
"I have a Green Cheeked Conure who absolutely loves this perch. At first I was thrown of by the perch's appearance and I think my bird was too. Now it is the perch that he spends most of his time on and he no longer scratches us when he climbs up our arm."

My Bird Hates This Perch
Date: April 11, 2007
"I know animals can be...selective. I can tell you that I placed this perch my bird's favorite spot in his cage. He rejected it immediately. I believe he was thrown by the varied widths of the perch--he's had manzanita perches with different widths before, but the "wonky" nature of this perch seemed to bother him when he first stepped on it.
It has been in his cage for months, and the only time he stands on it is to get to the treat box--it is unreachable any other way. Other than that, he avoids it. He has rejected items in the past, but not with the level of avoidance he's show with this perch!
I have a Green Cheeked Conure. I first bought the medium perch based upon the descriptions on this site. After looking at the width of the perch, I took it into the local store to get the small--the medium is more appropriate for mid-size conures than the smaller ones.
I'm sure some birds will love this perch and benefit from it, but if your bird is skittish or tempermental about new items, I'd think twice about this perch. It's an expensive mistake."

Good... Except 4 one thing...
Date: November 24, 2006
"It's great... my bird sharpens his beak on it and it keeps his nails cut down. The only problem is... when your bird uses the bathroom on it... it's hard to clean off."

It's worth the money!
Date: January 24, 2006
"This ultra-lite perch was the first perch I've ever bought that my African Gray hasn't been frightened of! I even did the unthinkable-- I replaced his sleeping perch with it immediately, and I expected him to be frightened and want to stay on his other concrete perch. But he loved it from first sight-- and I can already see that it's having an affect on his nails. He really loves that it doesn't suck heat away from his feet in the cold mountain winter. The price is duanting, but when you see how much your parrot loves it, it will be well worth it."
