"Before actually using this stroller, I was very excited about it, and had recommended it highly. I've used and reviewed six pet strollers so far, quite vigorously, and I hate to admit I was quite disappointed in the Happy Trails.
I would only recommend it for someone who will never want to walk faster than a very leisurely pace (the wheels do not allow it--the whole stroller shakes the moment you walk a tiny bit briskly), and whose pet has absolutely no interest in attempting to escape, as the sides of the canopy are not attached to the body of the cabin. If you are industrious and are willing to sew velcro onto the top, you may be alright. A friend with a very calm dog noticed that and immediately removed her dog, choosing to stroll her again in my AT3 (also by Pet Gear and available from PetCo).
Other than the wheels, the vinyl basket left me cold. Most people will use pet products and not wish to worry about parts that may fall apart, and it seems this vinyl basket could easily require replacement. My first attempt to stroll with this stroller lasted a mere two blocks, sending me back for my AT3, because the Happy Trails couldn't handle my pace. The next try was fine because I was with a VERY SLOW walker, which leads to my assessment that this stroller may limit your activity. Who needs that? The front suspension makes little sense--it needs to be on the rear wheels like on the AT3 and the Jeep Jogger, where the suspension can actually do some good.
If you desire the cabin size of the Happy Trails, I would recommend instead the Jeep Wrangler Pet Stroller, which is based on the Happy Trails but has larger wheels. If you wouldn't mind a slice of heaven to share with your pet, get an AT3 (larger for them and MUCH more versatile for you); all three from Pet Gear and also available from PetCo."
