Excellent Filter for a Small Tank!
Date: November 30, 2008
"I'm using this in my 3-4 gallon Betta tank, and it keeps it so CLEAN. I do a 25% water change every week or two, and it keeps the tank perfect. It also has an air pump to keep the water from getting stagnant. It is nearly silent, good-looking, small, and powerful. It is great for any small tank housing things such as otocinclus, bettas, guppies, Glofish/danios, platys, etc."

3i & 10i
Date: November 22, 2008
"I have both the 3i and 10i filters. The 3i filters are good for betta tanks but the tank should be at least 2.5 gallons, otherwise the filter will take up too much space in a smaller tank. The pump can be a little noisy. Aside from that, the biggest drawback are the suction cups that hold the filter to the tank wall. They stop sticking after a while and I haven't been able to find replacement suction cups that really work well. I tried using the suction cups for airlines by taking the clip part out but they don't really fit the filters that well. I have 1 10i in a 5 gallon tank and that filter is the quietest filter I own. It does take up too much room but I don't think it really has a strong enough circulation for a 10 gallon. Overall, a good enough filter if you are aware of the drawbacks I mentioned."

good filter

"this filter is great for use in a aquarium. for years I have never been able to put my fancy tail guppy aquarium up against the wall, now you can with this internal filter. If you have fish that are messy I highly recommend getting the next size up, and if your aquarium is deep, like a hexagon one, use and air stone to bring the waste up to the intake slots to be sucked in. overall its a great new invention. buy It! -fishlover77"

3i is great (but)
Date: October 4, 2008
"I love the 3i I use. But I was having trouble with small bits getting around the cartridge, but that was an easy fix. I use a small piece of sponge on the intake side to hold it against the wall of the filter and no more passby problem. This filter is great for small tanks and small budgets and I would highly recomend it."

Good for fish/ ok for turtles
Date: September 22, 2008
"This product keeps the water clear and clean, and i suspect it works great for fish but works ok for turtles. Food and wast from the turtle slowly builds up inside the pump until it jams up. The good thing is, it takes a very long time for it to jam. Other than that it is a good and reliable filter that has been keeping my 10 gallon tank clean for about a 1 1/2 years. This filter is also very quiet."

Good for small aquariums
Date: June 9, 2008
"I have the 3i in my 1.5 gallon betta tank. It provides good water circulation without being too strong. The filter isn't the greatest, and I don't believe it actually catches many particles, especially not larger ones. It should be changed every 2-3 weeks because of that, so I will probably add a piece of foam to maintain a more stable biological filter. The air pump is tends to be noisy because of the vibrations it makes (despite the rubber tipped feet), but putting it on a small towel dampens the noise pretty well."

works well. but check the filter often
Date: May 15, 2008

"I bought the 10 gallon model a couple months ago. since then it has kept my fairly clean. the only problem i had with it is that i waited a little too long to change the filter and the water level in the filter rose too high and started dumping water out of the tank. if you change the filter on time you wont have this problem."

Simple solution for space management!
Date: May 14, 2008
"Tired of having to make extra space for the bulky filters on the back of your tank?? This is the solution! These filters are INSIDE the tank, and easily hidden by plants for decorations. With the external filters, I used to have to sacrifice the hood so I could hang one on the side to be able to slide the tank flush with the wall. Now the only thing behind the tank are the cords! GREAT SPACE SAVER!"

great product
Date: April 2, 2008
"I have a 2.5 gal tank with a few platys. I needed something small and quiet because it's in my childs room. When i bought this and adjusted the flow (flow valves) the current and suction was great. Not to strong a current and suction.. just enought to pick up particles in the water and give my fish a good ride. The pump is a little weak and noisy. So i bought a seperate air pump. Now, i hardly notice it's on. As far as space goes, more than enough. it's off in the corner. but if i need more room, i can always get an external."

Quiet but
Date: February 24, 2008
"This filter is nice and quiet, but it does not do the best job of filtering the water. When the filter that came with my tank broke I thought I would try this filter. I have a problem getting this filter to sit right, I have had to lower the water level in my tank so I can put this filter all the way inside. It takes up a lot of room in the tank. My fish seem to like it, because they can hide underneath it or behind it. The water is always cloudy. The cheap filter that came with the tank did a better job of keeping the water clear. I'm going to prchase a penguin bio wheel filterr and see if it does a better job."

Good Purchase
Date: February 5, 2008
"I got this tank November 2007 and since then it has been great. My goldfish, Nemo , enjoys the 3i filter but would prefer for it to be smaller. Also, the air pump that came with it vibrates like its going to explode. I will get the Whisper Air Pump 10 and then it will be "whisper". I would definitely recommend this product to someone."

Not bad
Date: January 26, 2008

"I have one in a ten gallon. It's a 10-20 gallon. Most internal filters aren't as good as an external one. This is pretty good though. You have to make sure the output is above the water to get a good flow. It's adjustable though. Kinda hard to hide."

Pretty good
Date: January 17, 2008
"I have the filter for 5 gallons, and I'm using it on a 10 gallon tank (I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it). Anyway, I guess it does ok, algae starts to grow after 2-3 weeks. I really don't like the sound of the falling water when the water level is about 3 inches from the top, its very loud. I have turtles and they probably get annoyed at the current when they try to swim under it and just get tossed around. Anyway, I'd say the best thing about it is that they love hanging on to the side when they sleep at night. Just a tip I learned a bit late-For best results always buy a filter for double the size of your aquarium!"
