Could go either way
Date: October 5, 2009
"I know it says its for up to three gallon tanks but i used mine in a five gallon tank and the water was extremely dirty the next day. Maybe it would work better in a three gallon but the current it produces would be way to strong for any fish that could live in a three gallon tank."

Good w/ modification
Date: June 10, 2009
"These little filters are fantastic for small tanks. Great for betta tanks, hospital tanks, quarantine tanks, shrimp tanks and baby fish tanks. I like how the flow is adjustable so you won't be stressing out a sick fish or betta with a high water flow.
They're very small and hardly take up any room at all. I modify the filters by cutting a small layer off the sponge on the bottom and I put carbon (pieces larger than the intake slits) in there."

Quiet, small internal filter
Date: April 14, 2009
"A very quiet, and very small internal filter - probably the smallest one on the market. The attached venturi also makes it a good CO2 injector."

Best Mini Filter There Is, Period.
Date: March 23, 2009
"I love this filter, I've experimented with other mini filters for my small 2.65 fry aquarium, and there is none to beat this one. To top it off, its much cheaper than other mini's. It really is a no lose situation. It fits the entire apparatus (minus the air tube) inside the aquarium, unlike other "internal" filters with large, noisy external air pumps. It is great at moving the water around and does a fair job at cleaning junk out of the water. I highly recommend this filter."
