"I know this gets a lot of mixed reviews, but I thought I'd try it anyway.
I like how it keeps the hay mess to a minimum in my piggies' playpen. It's also adorable to watch them stand up and spin the roller and pick out strands of hay."

"The "Super Pet Rollin' The Hay Spinning Hay & Salad Dispenser" is great as a Salad Dispenser or Hay. It can spill when the hay is small as it falls down through the bars, but if you put it over the litter box (like you're supposed to) , it falls in the litter box and your rabbit and/or guinea pig with totally eat it! It is better as a vegi and fruit dispenser though. All you really need to do is stick some hay in and leave it hanging on the wire wall on top of the litterbox! I think it's simple and easy and it makes it so they don't eat their food fast and they have to work for it to get it out, or just stuff it full and they can always get it out easily. I would suggest purchasing this product . It saves space and time."

"I own 4 guinea pigs for whom I purchased these. They seem to like the rollers fine & have had no trouble using them. It is a little troublesome putting the hay in as it can be messy, but I just make sure to fill them over the cages & the pigs take care of the misplaced hay. I bought 4 of the rollers and would be happy to buy another."

"I originally bought the hay buffet by this same brand (Super Pet) and I liked the way it looked, and it was flat against the side of the cage, but my piggies never seem to use it, so I exchanged it for this Rollin the Hay, and so far I've had no luck. I attached to the side of the cage because there is not enough floor space for this, the igloo, food dish and a large piggie. It sticks out from the side a whopping 7inches and makes it into an eye sore. Right now it's a glorifed umbrella...my guinea pig prefers to lie under it or run away. He keeps flopping between liking it and being afraid of it. I really like the idea of the Rollin ball, and it matches exactly to the cage, which is a huge deal with me. If it doesn't go with the cage; I don't buy it. The colours that I've seen are berry, purple, blue, teal and sage. Each of these matches with the Super Pet brand cages. I left it's little "door" open because the bars are too close together for my piggy to get any food out. Normally he's not too crazy about eating hay, but when I put it into his cage he will eat it, but so far he's only tried to get hay out of this ball once, then gave up and took a nap. I'm going to hold onto this product a little longer to see if my guinea pigs start to like it, but after this week if nothing has changed then I am returning it. Overall, no luck with piggies---plus it's huge, so you must have a big cage. On the bright side it seems well crafted and strong."

"I bought this for my chinchillas and it is such a waste. I packed the hay as much as i could and it still falls out. i do not reccomend this product to anyone unless you like hay falling all the time and packing it every two days.might as well let them eat hay off of the ground."

"Great idea for larger pets, but my guinea pigs really had a hard time with this wheel. They eventually gave up and wouldn't eat out of it. I actually ended up taking one of the sides off and used it almost as a bowl for their hay."

"i bought this hay roller with high hopes even after reading other reviews. i am very dissappointed with this product. first off, it is very difficult to get the hay in the dispenser without getting it all over, so i have to do it over the garbage. second of all, the wires are too close together for my little dwarf bunny to get her teeth through for hay. i really like the idea and design for this hay dispenser, but it needs a little work to be done. i would try to find another hay dispenser that isnt as expensive."

"My Guinea pigs like theirs, but they don't eat as much hay as they should. Hay is an important part of their diet, is it is crucial that they eat enough every day. When I use this, however, they barely eat half of what they should be eating. I don't think they like having to pull and strain just for a little treat. It is nice when you leave on a short trip, though. I fill up their food dish to the top, and stuff the dispencer with hay, and I'm sure they won't run out of food."

"This is nice. Not only does it save space in the cage depending how you mount it, it cuts out the mess!! It's nice to be able able to keep the hay from getting contaminated and not to have it spread all over the cage. I think that it also gives him another source of play as he spins it around getting the hay out!! Made pretty nice but more importantly, Odie loves it!!!"

"My guinea pig can only eat the hay that is on the outside of the bars, so I must be constantly refilling it. The hay in the back that is never eaten gets old and moldy so this is not a really good product. That is why I switched to a small plastic bowl. It worked really well (the plastic bowl, not the hay/salad dispenser.)"

"I have purchased this product for my rabbit and WE just love it! At first it was hard to get it on the bars of the cage but after a few minutes she was off and eating! she plays with it spins it around and when its empty SHE bangs it on the cage telling me she is out of hay! I am going to purchse a LIXIT hay Rack to catch the trappings so it doesnt fall on floor of her cage! she should have access to the droppings of hay! but OVER all this product has been great I have no complaints with it! its a toy and a feeder rolled into one with 3 different ways of use!"

"This thing doesn't work. I got a couple of them for the rescue for the guinea pig cages. They eat the hay sticking out and then can't get at any of the hay inside. What's the point if they can't get the hay out? Don't bother--you're better off just putting a pile in a corner."

"This product is useless for bunnies. It is impossible for them to get the hay out...there needs to be more wire openings. It also is difficult to maneuver the door...it needs to be tight to stay closed but then it makes it difficult to open when it is so tight. Better selection is the wire racks that mount inside the cage!"

"This product was a very nice addition to my guinea pig's home. He loves it because it adds a little challenge to getting his hay, and I love it because it doesn’t spill all over like other products designed to keep hay. Very nice! Only problem was that the hooks were very tight and too small for the bars. That was easily fixed by pliers though."

"This hay feeder is great! I needed to put my hay in some type of feeder because my degus would always go to the bathroom on the hay. Now, they can't do that, and they can also hide under it! The door closes very tightley so they cannot get inside.... also, it is made of very durable plastic. The degus barely chew on it. A must buy for pets whose diet consists of hay!"

"i liked this product because it keeps my hay inside the ball and not all over my guinea pigs cage. but, my guinea pig pulls out the hay and drops it on the floor. my guinea pig loves rolling it around and has a lot of fun with it. the only problem is that it has bunnies on it and not guinea pigs. thats why it was only a pretty good purchase and not a great purchase."
