Not for big dogs

"This pet gate is pretty nice but it doesn't last very long if you have medium or bigger sized dogs or even ones that just like to jump on it over and over and over again. It would be better to go for the pricier gates because in the long run they will last the longest."

"This gate is wide enough to fit in the opening of my deck. Really like the tension hold since I didn't want to drill holes for a bracket. The extra tallness is a plus! Thanks."

Xena resting on gate

"For my front door, this works fine and keeps Zena off the screen door because the regular door keeps it from moving out of door jam. But, when I tried to use it on another door, bathroom, my Xena just pulled it out of the door jam."

"I bought this gate, but it doesn't fit between the door opening. My door is between the first and second notch so it doesn't lock. I still have to put something in front so that the dog doesn't get out. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt."

"I purchased another brand of pet gate that didn't work at all and was very clumsy to set up. This Four Paws gate is the absolute best. I think it's well priced. It is very easy to set in place regardless of the size of opening and it's sturdy - for our dog anyway (mini short hair Doxie). I marked the setting on the wood bar so I could go right to it the next time. I have no idea how but our little stinker got over the gate. Maybe she's part monkey. :) So I bought a second gate and placed it on top of the first one. If she could jump two gates I'd sell tickets and charge admission. It worked great to use two and I wouldn't have thought of that if the Petco staff hadn't suggested it. For a while I was worried that she'd climb up the mesh and fall so I put a very thin plywood piece about 30 inches tall in front of the gate on her side, drilled some small holes and tied it to the mesh. The mesh construction allowed this very easily. I've stopped using the plywood now that she's used to the gate. I just love this gate. You won't regret buying it. I have no idea if it would be strong enough construction for a really large dog but it sure works like a charm with the little ones. Thanks Four Paws and Petco."

amazing product

"I am the proud owner of a 3 month old mini pincher who can jump up to 2 feetinto the air, and have almost given up on finding an inexpensive mesh gate that she wont jump over. then, i visited petco. this is a top quality inexpensive gate that will keep your little furry friend out of the staircase or the bedrooms. amazing product, definitely recommended."
