"I had a really tough time putting this together. The instructions are basically helpless but it does the trick once it is all set up. Holds in my 55lb bulldog no problem."

Just what I needed
Date: August 27, 2009
"I had an opening that was 71" that I needed some type of gate to keep my son's American bulldog out of our family room when someone was not in there. She is 10 months old but weighs 55 lbs already and I just don't quite trust her by herself in a room alone yet. None of the gates that I had found previously were wide enough for me to purchase so I was actually taking dining room chairs and blocking the entryway. This gate is not the most sturdest for large agressive dogs but it seems to work for us. I was just estatic when I found this one and couldn't wait to get - hopefully when she is over the chewing and getting into things I will not need."

darn good gate
Date: April 18, 2008
"Given the price, this was an excellent purchase for us. We are on a budget and this gate we could afford. We're gating our new puppy, a mixed cattle dog/basset who weighs around 15 pounds now. So she can't really trash the gate. The latches are fine for us. We screwed eye hooks into the door jamb and voila."

Not a good buy
Date: June 22, 2007
"I needed a gate for my kitchen and I could not find one this wide at any of the local stores. This gate is not meant for small dogs. My miniature poodle was able to fit right through the gate. I had to buy something to cover it so that the dog would not get out. The gate is very wobbly and hard to get in and out of. The clamps are hard to open and many times got caught in the hooks. I have accidentally yanked the hook completely out of the wall because of this many times. My puppy eventually ate through the gate and I had to buy another one elsewhere. I had a really hard time with it and it was not worth the money."
