"This is an ugly and bad choice for a substrate. It is overpriced, huge ugly chunks that are hard to place cage items on and really poor quality."

Attractive but dusty

"I've used this product for 4 months with my Indian Star and Leopard tortoise groups. Pros - The product is attractive and the torts really liked to burrow into it. Has a soft feel unlike other bark or shaving products. Does not have strong odor. Does not get dragged all over food like coconut coir or dirt does. Easy to spot clean. Cons - Very dusty when pouring out of bag and also when replacing. Helps if you rinse product off prior and let air dry in sunshine but that is a big hassle when you want to quickly change substrate in tables."
