"My two Labs were both tipping the scale at around 125 lbs each. After instructing my six year old to stop feeding snacks and, following the instructions on the bag my former heavy weights are losing weight at a slow healthy rate. My dogs really like this food. I bought a couple of different types and they would not touch it. I follow the feeding guidelines on the bag and keep a steady supply of fresh water and they are two happy dogs. (family members)"

"I gave this to my 100 pound Yellow Lab. In 3 months he lost 15 pounds in 3 months. Plus, he used to beg for a bone in the morning when it was mealtime. He wouldn't touch his food until he got one. Now in the morning he forgets all about the bone and eats all up. Now he only needs to lose about 7 pounds or so. Keep going Ozzie!"

"I bought this large breed diet by accident for my Westies and it worked great. They are maintaining their leanness and they are much friskier on this food than any other. They are both well into doggie middle age."

"I use this for my Golden Retriever. She LOVES food, but tends to get a little hefty. With the regular food, when I cut her back, she always seemed hungry. With the diet food, she can eat a little more without adding calories. It's a good balance. But we still struggle to keep her weight down."

Food only won't do the trick

"This food is definitely better than feeding regular foods for the overweight dog, but it won't do the trick alone. We've had our dog Toby on this for over a year, even cut his portions and he is outside running around all the time but our vet says he is still overweight by about 10 pounds. He says he needs at least a mile walk every night! Our dog is a husky lab mix so I don't know if it's just his body type because he is supposed to weigh about 70-80 pounds but he's never been less than 90! So this food has good quality but also needs a little push to work!"

"My vet recommended S.D. Light when my lab was diagnosed with joint dysplasia. It really helped take off the extra pounds she needed to loose as he preferred her to be a bit underweight with her condition. I've used it for years and she still loves it."

"After having surgery to repair a ruptured CCL, our labrador Ava was put on this food. The vet said that it would decrease her weight and help keep her as lean as possible. His advice is 100% accurate. The food has helped her slim
down and she enjoys eating it. I am highly satisifed with this product and would recommend it to anyone whose pet needs to shed a few pounds. 5 Paws!"

"I have a chocolate lab that weights about 125 and we feed him the Light Large Breed Science Diet dog food and even the bones. I think this has really helped Dodger (chocolate lab) lose weight b/c he was above 150 lbs at one time."
