"This book is awesome! It totally helped me when I set up my first "real" tank. It tells you what supplies to get, about portions for your fish, and the most fun part, combining species! My two platys, three guppies, and two bettas could not be happier in thier tanks thanks to David!!! This book is so helpful!"

book after my tank was set up and i still learned alot im telling you
BUY THIS BOOK it helps you no matter what its a little outdated at some
points but thats about it (its suggestion about no chemicals i
completely disagree) but even though im less then a year of an aquarist
i go into petco or other fish stores and help pple like a pro"

"This book tells you everything you need to know about your first fish tank. It tells you how to set up a tank with amazing results. It tells you what fish to try that are hardy and it explains everything in detail. It tells you why or why not you should do something. If you will buy a tank buy this book too."

"I got this book before I started keeping any freshwater tropical fish. It's an easy read and seems to cover all aspects of fishkeeping that a beginner should be familiar with. And I still refer to it on occassion.
Obviously, it's best to become familiar with the basic requirements of any type of pet BEFORE you take a new one on. I think this book does just that for freshwater fish."

"If you are new at fish or just need some information this book has it... I had already started my fist aquarium about 4 months before i bought this book and I had been trying to find alot of information online. This book has it all i learned so much i didnt know. For anyone looking to set up there first aquarium it tells you exactly how to do it for amazing results. Also, if you have looked online there are many websites out there about fish but there all a little confusing.
